How does it do through the corners? I drove a stock ISF once, very heavy, loads of understeer. Does the RMing improve it's handling much, does it feel somewhat nimbler?

It's nice in every way, I've only driven it with racing softs but it corners well.

The combination of less weight and aero makes a world of difference. Excellent under brakes, but does require some fettling to negate all the underlying understeer you mention.

got the car a while ago bit of a pain 8 gears in manual but its my favourite car in the game love it, it flies round the corners but put too much power and the arse end kicks out but i think it looks great and handles great its fast as heck as well, great car. just got the racing version of the isf but havnt tried it yet. the rm is sweet though recommend it to all

I would imagine the 8 gears could be a pain if you don't have a nice shifting setup on a wheel.

This car is built for the Nurburgring. It hugs that course like a dream! Fly around the "ring" with this at highspeed and it likes successfully navigating an intense dirt track! Loads of fun!

i normally end up in 7th quite a bit, 8 is a huge stretch

i guess i havent learned to appreciate this car properly yet, also feels really slow and cumbersome whenever ive driven it. maybe thats coz ive only ever driven it on Laguna Seca which i don't really like lol

When our current season of the Clubman Cup finishes (we've got one race left in the Caterhams) we'll be using the Lexus RM for the next season. That starts on April 24th... come and race with us

We're normally no assists... but we allow ABS for GT5 and the Lexus will be running race-softs so you don't need the TCS

Usually if you use stickier thread on car with understeer, you'll make it worse. The simplest way to fix the understeer is via suspension setup- for FR it's usually by making the rear spring setup firmer than the front. Or use less sticky tires which will induce oversteer.

Depends on your setup (as you say). The lateral wear isn't too bad on this car for the first fifteen or so laps so you can get away with R:S on the front and R:M on the rear.

That sorts out a lot of balance problems on this car!

You're using the IS-F RM right? The IS-F racing concept car feels more like you are describing and a very different drive. I add all available tuning parts to my cars so maybe that is difference, but I struggle to see how anyone could find this car slow.

It's a great car. 700+ hp and very easy to drive on sports soft or racing softs. I hate the 8 gears though. No car should have 8 gears unless it can hit 300+ mph.

I'm on the fence with the 8 gears...trying to find a track where it is useful. With paddle shifters it's not terrible though...

I love the 8 gears, i set it up to run good down the long straite at the nurb ring, so its geared pretty high. However the ratios are so close even on short tracks ive never felt the need to change them. Its acutally got a pretty wide power band so it dosnt really "need" the 8 gears, but its nice haveing one thing i dont have to mess with when the track changes.

Lol, I was just thinking—

So it sound like the eighth gear isn't used too much. Even if it is, you could adjust the first seven to get through most tracks fine. Then you could mess with just the eighth gear, you could make it super tall. If you're on SSR7 or something, you could pull out the 'ol eighth gear and climb up in speed over an extended period of time... And just keep climbing!

Sounds crazy, probably doesn't work, but I feel it's worth a try.

This is a great car when Race modded, might be the best as it does everything well with a little tune (TVR is good also). Mine is a rocket!

Side note: I rarely use 8th gear, I space the gearing out to keep the car in its powerband on medium size tracks.

You love that lexus don't you Grim. Everytime we race online you always seem to be in it. I've got one in my garage too but I've gotta say, I don't really use it that much. After reading this thread though I think I'll have to take it to the track tomorrow and blast the cobwebs off it.

Anyone know what pp it is with full mods?

I use 8th gear, but I've not found a track that I can get to the top of 8th w/out the gearing being just silly so I'm not sure how useful it is yet.

But I've decided I like it, because it's there doesn't mean you have to use it

Take the car online, using racing hard tires, then tell me you love it. I started (and Wardez finished) a racing series using this car and most of us hated the car to the very end.
