For some tracks it's worth altering the individual gears and popping 7th/8th to the top of the scale and then tune the box for 6 gears only.

If you drive by ear then the gear numbers aren't really important anyway, they don't tell you anything about the cog

You love that lexus don't you Grim. Everytime we race online you always seem to be in it. I've got one in my garage too but I've gotta say, I don't really use it that much. After reading this thread though I think I'll have to take it to the track tomorrow and blast the cobwebs off it.

Anyone know what pp it is with full mods?

I got mine to 640 pp now and the bhp is 715.

people can get to the 8th gear they just need to adjust the transmission to what track their on. i can get to 8th on autumn ring down the start fininsh straight by setting the transmission to 162max. to stop the arse end kicking out dependant on the corner set the gear 1 higher than needed.

It sure was.

This was the first car I did a Racing Mod on. It is very nice, easy to drive.

Take the car online, using racing hard tires, then tell me you love it. I started (and Wardez finished) a racing series using this car and most of us hated the car to the very end.

I race online with Racing SOFTS and NO driving aids (we don't use them), and I use a DS3. Racing Hards would be more difficult for sure.... Love this car. We agree to disagree.

Racing soft tires require no skill. Not saying you don't have any, but its the truth about those tires. Should have raced with us, you would have seen a whole different side to this car.

Rubbish! The limits are in a different place and the speeds are higher - but winning races against a pack of good drivers is just as difficult with everyone on R:S as with everyone on R:H.

If you're finding it that easy then you're simply not going fast enough

That's the problem, racing soft tires require too much speed to use them properly. So much speed that it makes the game unrealistic for me. Shall we say, a bit arcade-like.

I'll stick to my Sport and Racing Hard tires, thanks.

Any car in the game will handle well with racing soft tires. No fun in having super grip.

I still disagree... if you can't get a car loose on R:S then you need to push harder!

You think the car and tire traction are realistic? Not trying to start a war I'm genuinely interested. The f40 on racing hards can't pull turns on a track that I can do with my toyota matrix (I've actually experimented quite a bit with this) I have a hard time believing the car would actually handle like this. The lambo's are slippery as hell, I don't think they would feel like that in real life. When I break my tires loose in my matrix they grab quickly again...in the lambo's your done. I have good tires on the car but the car itself is the stock 4 cyl. 0 performance but can take an almost identical corner better than the spec II test with racing hards? In my opinion the tires aren't sticky enough to be realistic. This is where the stealth cars excel I think, they are just...stickier. I've never driven any of the above cars so maybe I'm wrong.

I don't mind the cars being harder to drive, it wouldn't be fun if it wasn't challenging to keep it on the track, but I wouldn't call it realistic.

Interested in your opinion as I'm willing to bet you have infinitely more experience sim racing as well as real racing than I do.
