There has been too many times when the Pace Car has stopped in front of me and i rammed him in the a$$ and i fail....this happened alot in the ib tests and the super tests.
I have learned that if you want the gold for them you need to run a perfect race and well i would rather be racing then taking tests
mmm.. I disagree with that statement, I've noticed that a lot of the licenses give a fair amount of leeway in terms of getting the gold. Take the early I think B test with Laguna Seca (I've been terrible at this course, it's one of the banes to my racing existence) I think I was around .09 away from the gold. And after doing the first 4 turns and coming up on the checkpoint at the base of the hill before the downhill S I think my best was around .9 ahead of my near gold run. Somewhere I'd always mess up on the S or the following turns though and that amazing lead would get squandered away. Now if I had done them "well" not perfect I bet there's another second or two to be gained there. Meaning you can pull out 3-4 seconds ahead of the gold in a lot of instances for the full laps.
It's not a matter of being "perfect" it's about being consistently GOOD. I'm pretty good at points but it's the consistency that seperates me from those at the top.
On a seperate note: I havent played a whole lot with the DS2 (I also have a DFP), and what I can say for the driving differences are:
1. I feel turning full out is easier with the DS2; with the DFP sometimes I'm overturning because I feel that the car isnt turning enough but all I'm doing is causing the car to slide more and ruin my exit line, whereas the DS2 it's REALLY easy to return to a neutral position just by releasing.
2. The difference in forcefeedback just feels weird, I'm so used to having to fight to turn. (this isnt a good or bad thing, it's just a difference I noticed right off the bat, makes the flow of the car feel smoother)
3. For me, the DFP makes minute alterations EASY, simplest example just being the acceleration meter, it's a lot easier for me to do I'd say around 5-10 different levels of acceleration, whereas the DS2 I have maybe 4? I'm not sure, I noticed with the accelerator meter it's a lot easier to know when I'm lightly tapping and not but I cant keep it very steady unless it's 0% or 100%
Hmm.. if anyone else notices other things or has differing thoughts on the differences between driving with the DS2 and the DFP point them out to me.
