License test question

Hello Sebastian

enjoy the licenses and learning the right way to drive the tracks. It is worth it for when you start racing in earnest. You'll find you don't need that 500hp evo to win, as you have learnt to drive by virtue of the practise you have had at the licenses. I played GT1 and 2 on 'bronze' licenses and wondered why all my friends who had practised til they got all golds would always beat me!
 
actually, in the nurb ring license test(with the mercedes) i hit and passed the pace once and it did not result in failure. idk why though.

You have to hit it pretty hard or get in front of it to fail. You can give it a good tap and that's fair game.... which is another reason they shouldn't be in there. You can use them to help you slow down by tapping them.
 
I have a hard time getting golds on the ones that require a full lap.. I havnt got gold on any of them yet.. One of the majasdor setbacks im having is that with the TCS when I turn it cuts out my power to the car so i dont get as much power through the corner. I dont think you can turn TCS off either on license....

I cant acheive gold on any of the full lap tests.. it sucks im having suck a hard time.
 
Hi this is my first post on GTP.
I think that license tests are very difficult. They are supposed to be to challenge the player. That hasn't stopped me from trying to get all golds. I can only think about how difficult the ones on GT4 will be. If they're anything like the GT4P ones then they shouldn't be too bad. I only have to get two more golds on those and those ones are coffee breaks so I'm not too bothered about them.

does anyone have trouble controlling the amount of turn into the corner with DS2??

and i have trouble controlling the amount of pressure on the brakes and gas. i know this are crucial in pushing the car to its limit.

meanwhile, i'm stuck in B trying to get all Gold... gold all the way till dead bronze on the Laguna Seca course and all tests with pace cars later... basically i have problems with hi-speed cornering with the DS2, something about controlling the amount of steering and power....

has anyone got some tip for me?? i juz can't seem to NOT push the car.... -.- maybe i ought to get myself a DFP.... *sigh* any advice welcome.

Try braking a little bit earlier and waiting just a second longer before getting back on the gas when exiting a turn. Just try it...don't expect a medal...just try it.

I have used DS2.

B - All gold. 2 required manual gears. Laguna Seca and Tsukuba.
A - about half gold
IB all silver
IA all silver
S - half silver/half bronze

I believe that in the main DS2 can be used to gold them all. Tips for accelerate -where full acceleration is not required - if you struggle to lightly press the button then pulse it instead. This works fine with lower powered cars or high powered cars with good traction and stiff suspension. Cars like the Viper would not like it though.

Brakes are a little harder as the tendency with the button is to push it all the way down but it is possible to press it lightly.

I do not believe the digital steering has held me back but then I have not golded all yet.

Me, no. But you would be surprized just how many have gotten golds on ALL of the license tests. There are quite a few.

Hello mate, welcome to GTP!

I suggest you use the search function on top of this page, as you will find a ton of information on this subjects in various threads.
E.G you have people describing which license test they find the hardest and also why, you find little tricks or detailed info on some of the longer tests, etc...you will see. I can not make a general comment to your question, as all the test are different from each other (obviously).

You will also find- for your missions ( I guess you havent got them all) some good write ups and even some videos ( from daan..www.davidanderson.org.uk.... so a fellow countryman.....) Theer you go..be asured you will be busy the next few days...

Even with those threads, the best advice I could give is do a practice run, then compare the ghost to the driving shown in the demonstration (The only time it doesn't show a ghost is lap guide runs). Then, in the demonstration, press square until it says "display" in black writing and an orange background on the corner of the screen, press select, then r1 to change the camera view for a better look at what the demo car is doing that you might be doing wrong or not good enough.

After you use the demo to find the proper racing line, KEEP PRACTICING.

That's the best advice I could give you, if you don't want to read through how to gold every single license test in that other thread or download a video, and believe me, it works.
 
by the way i went on Gt4 2day and tried to get more golds and my game says special licence not super
so its special not super
