Life after Level 40?

Cool, I know there have been a few people that hit Level 40 that aren't seeing this thread. Got some that are close that have posted in here.

I don't get why a lot of you people are giving your opinions and gripes about the EXP and leveling system, it is what it is, and no one asked for it, in here anyway. There are other threads for your complaints, and thoughts about it, right? Just saying.

I think it's kinda funny that now that there's a leveling system, people are constantly referring to "grinding", and saying there's "no life after 40", when many on this forum were still playing GT4 when this game released. I play the game the way I always have...there are over 1000 cars to tune & tons of events to enter. I'll try my hand at hundreds of different cars & try to win races with them that they shouldn't win. And of course, now we have online too.

I agree with you, but there are defenitely not enough events. Not with the huge amount of cars this game has. I just hope they add more in an update or something.
 
I'm almost at level 26 and honestly have zero motivation for b spec. It kinda sucks that the momentum just kinda dies around level 25.

i just hit lvl. 40, in b-spec. no car was rewarded. i got an "expert manager" trophy and that's it.

i just started the 24Hr. of Nurburgring which unlocks when you attain lvl. 40. the payout Credits for winning the race is 399,000. err, in 24 Hrs. i'll post what the XP payout is.
 
in b-spec, i finished the 24Hr of Nurburgring and concluded the Endurance series. the XP given for the race was 3,700,822. at lvl 40, your XP level ceases to go up anymore. your XP meter stays empty.

the prize car given for winning the 24Hr Nurburgring was a black McLaren MP4-12C '10.

and for winning the Endurance Series of b-spec event, a Free Gift Card LV 24 Class, prize was awarded. when i turned in the free gift card, i was awarded a blue formula gran turismo F1 car which i already had. so now i have two. i'll gift one to my friend as a nice christmas gift. i think he'll be fairly happy as he started GT5 two days ago.

the new FGT has 863HP and my old one has 873HP. go figure.

Congratulations on reaching 40. I see one use for that 24hr race: to level up your other drivers. 3,700,822 sure is a ton of xp.

thx. yes, good one. you're absolutely correct. my 6 drivers are now lvl 37 to lvl 39. they are all high. i was using them to grind all the endurance races leading up to the nurburgring 24hr. endurance race.

right now, it's time for me to do a-spec where i left off- lvl 14. it's gonna be fun since i have my cars all lined up for the races and they are all modded from b-spec'ing.

actually, i have three PS3s. they do folding@home, 24/7. but one of them has been doing GT5, 24/7 lately. ;)

i threw a western digital scorpio black, 7,200rpm, 320GB, 16MB buffer hard drive in one of my newer PS3s, a few days ago. yes, i do intend to start GT5 all over again on that hard drive if i cannot copy this game data to the newer hard drive.

as fate would have it, i'm on the gran turismo world championship in A-Spec. so i'm going to do that race series with my Formula GT F1 car now. it should be so fun driving it A-Spec. enjoy your racing everyone!
 
I hit level 40 last night in B-Spec. That unlocked the 24 hour Nurburgring race - my Bob drivers are running it now. Once it's complete I'll start chipping away again at A-Spec, where I left off at level 27 weeks ago, and just running various races for fun, enjoying the cars I have accumulated.

Why let my PS3 run all this time to reach level 40? I wanted to be able to buy the X2010 cars (so many colors in the NCD) and now I'm able to with the 20,000,000 credits I have saved up. There was a long period of time since 2007 when I bought my PS3, where I never used it - only my XBox 360 - so I know it should have lots of life left.
 
Had my ps3 on non stop since i first got the fat for the extortionate prices they were going for and i must say that's it's still going strong. Freezes every now and then but every machine has it's trademark.
 
I'm in 40 on B-Spec and on 39 in A-Spec only couple of hours and i will end A-Spec, so there is enough griding for me.

From 39 to 40 is the hardest because you have highest amount of points to grind. Life after that for me would be online racing and some WRC playing

There is no point in playing once you reach LVL 40...

online racing is the way to go....
I completed Forza 3's career mode in the first month, then played online everyday afterwards...
hopefully PD beefs up the online mode, b/c that's where the replayability is at...

wow you completed forza 3 career mode in less than a month, ive put over a year in and im less than 50% thats some achievment

That's what I recalled reading in another thread.

And does this not mean that actually, you don't get any XP for the Nurburgring 24 hour race..? Since it doesn't unlock until level 40... And you don't get any XP after level 40..?

Would it have been that much of a stretch to have the last endurance race unlock at, say (just throwing this out there...): level 39?
 
I just reached level 40 B-Spec myself last Friday and I must say it was quite a lack luster event. You get a PSN trophy but that was it, found it odd, but I am happy never the less to turn off my PS3 at nights :D except now my guy is running the last 24 hr race so I have another 10hrs to go!
 
I too found reaching level 40 B-Spec kind of a let down. My PS3 only comes on for racing A-Spec, online and at least once a day for the museum card (not sure why though).
 
Just about to get to level 37 b-spec.. and my blu ray drive dies...

even worse - it's my birthday this week and now I will not be able to log on and get the birthday gift ticket :ouch:

Maybe you guys can send me some birthday gift cars? as I doubt i can afford a new ps3 until pay day and that will be feb!

Ha, I am the same way. I will be lvl 39 bspec tomorrow after the bob's finish the 24hr endurance for the 4th time. After that they will run it again and again until I hit lvl 40 which should be sometime this week or next. Since I don't play it much during the week the 24hr events work out great xp wise.

I am going to buy a gold one first.
