Bah they killed it by overheating? If they could have a shift mechanism, it'd be cool to finish the car off by hitting redline in 4th, dropping the clutch, shifting it to 1st then reengaging the clutch shortly before the landing. That's a sad, torturous way to kill an engine. I'd much have rather enjoyed watching it blow to pieces at 14,000 or so rpm's

Someone (not them, they'll trash it) should make a R/C AE86 and race around, say, Sonoma. It'd be cool, and just for fun, throw a human operated ae86 in the mix against it

I think it is possible. Just very difficult. I know lots of small RC bikes have been made. It seems that the best mechanism for steering is having a mechanical man sitting on the bike, who leans left and right but doesn't turn the bars. The weight transfer leans the bike causing it to turn.
