I have their new CD and I think that it is awesome. I also agree with the length especially when Hybrid Theory and Reanimation are over an hour (right?).
I don't like them. Maybe they have some nice tunes somewhere, but that high pitched whiny sound does not cut it. Modern rock, metal, whatever the genre, is suffering from a lack of diversity in sound. You could throw lead singers in a hat and give back to each bands the wrong lead singers and not know the difference. They either scream or sing in a low voice. A damn shame.
Btw, I still have not recovered from hearing "crawling in my skin," oh, the pain.

What do you mean? Linkin Park are a diversity in the sound. If one of their songs come on, you instantly know who it is thanks to the fact that their style is unique. When Hybrid Theory came out, that's the only reason why I liked them. I like the techno intro, some heavy guitar, rap, then Chester's screaming/singing. It's AWESOME! "Crawling" was not too bad either.
Meteora is great. I like all of it. I memorized it the first day I got it. Of course there are going to be people who hate them, but isn't that always how it is. There is always someone there to go against what you believe in. That's how our society functions. There would be no fun if everyone agreed.
