Live Track Weather?

Just a quick question peeps, do you know if some of these tracks are designed to allow rain water to run off ?.If so, just hoping the tracks are accurate or expect many puddles, in valleys of tarmac. The newer part of the A50, near me has drains at each side that helps to drain standing rain water, so was wondering if tracks have drains too.

1. Does anyone believe if there is Dynamic Weather and Time, will we be able to set conditions manually?

2.Do you think there will be Time Acceleration, say you can go thru 24hrs in 4(240 mins) hours or 24 minutes?.

3. Do you think there will be a sort of Intensity level for the rain and wind, 0% POP to 100% POP?

will snow in?

@ chepe371

1. If some people want consistency in the weather, weather choices are a good idea.Or as said before create your own, and a weather report ( track temp etc ) can be shown so everyone knows when they could need wets or slicks etc.

2. You mean like in the Le Mans races in Grid ?.This could used in arcade mode, if Le Mans races are in arcade mode.

3. If there is a weather generator i hope so, it'd be similar to Flight Unlimited 3.

Yeah... and then when rain comes, you get wet and flu.... then you go to the main menu, HOME , HEALTH AND CARE , and take the medicine...

c´mon... just NIGH / DAY / WET / DRY / SNOW ... it would be GREAT!

edit: Smoke&Slide - Really impressive clouds and weather effects... but i think theres too much processing power involved... and GT5 already has a lot of things to process , i´m expecting a little more simple weather effects..

There is no way technically that PD can run 16 cars at the current level of graphics while processing live weather effects and AI without taking some kind significant performance hit.

Overall though I'm starting believe people here are having unrealistic expectations when it come to GT5 and what PD can/cannot do technically.

The PS3 is capable of running dynamic RT weather A2K78.It was designed to do just that.Same for sfx, A.i, textures, damage & physics, though not sure about lighting. There isn't a racing/driving game out there, on the PS3 that has rt sfx, a.i, textures, physics, weather & possible lighting effects. If someone can prove to us, that all this can't be implemented please show me.

I don't think if it's snowing, races go ahead do they? I think they should go Day/ Night/ Wet/ Damp/ Dry.

I can believe that, the PS3 doesn't even need a graphics card, the Cell was designed to handle everything but developers didn't know how to use it, so Sony threw in a graphics card to keep them happy. I believe Uncharted 2 uses the Cell to give an enormous amount of anti-aliasing without going anywhere near the GPU.

I would seriously expect that if anyone can get every last ounce of performance from the PS3 it should be PD/Sony.

Smoke, saying the PS3 can do all that is like saying the PS3 can run a game like Crysis at full blast.

My mistake, Wipeout Fury has dynamic lighting effects.

I agree. I would think that if all of this stuff was toppled on to the game then there would have to be something like 3 discs with the first 2 being purely installation discs, kind of like certain PC games.

I think they need to focus mainly on AI, damage, FF and physics (which are already really good, but everything can be tweaked just to make it that much better) and if they need to get rid of stuff like snow or night races to perfect these things, so be it. I would rather have a race where the AI isn't running into me than to race on a snowy Nurburgring.

Keep racing while a tornado is right in your path. Add trees coming apart from their roots and flying around about to smash you. What if a freakin' fat butt cow got tossed smashing into the side of your car from the tornado, and -, and getting you car into 30 rolls.

Let's get serious. But that would be funny. - Anyway, let there be snow and causing the roads to get pile ups of snow.
Thunderstorms, with lightning striking right in front of you.
Heavy rain storms, and making it a bit hard to see. Especially, when in the cockpit view with the windshield wipers on.
Wind as well, that sometimes it could blow your car slightly off control.

Endless possibilities.

That would be a 2012 DLC content ... kkkk

I don't want cow udders in my face, i wouldn't mind another type of cow though :sly:.

Though Viktor, who knows, that content might be in the game. Might be a future add-on.

And UHAUHAhuAUHAUHUHau...\o to you to. Whatever you are trying to get at.?

Press "Go Advanced", on the right, you will see some emoticons, press "see all" to see all of the emoticons.

For NASCAR weather would be pointless because NASCAR races are non-existant in the rain.

With snow, i mean rally stages...

Oh yeah. I'd forgotten about the rally stages. Having snow on these stages is essential. I just hope Ice Arena is included:)

Or you create a race with ludicrous amounts of rain, danger, and NASCAR cars 💡 That sounds like fun :)
