Logitech RS50 | Settings and tips

I recently purchased an RS50, using it with a PS5 for GT7. It crashed and disconnected a lot, so I got in touch with Logitech support who suggested a replacement wheel base.

After waiting a week for the defective base to be shipped to Poland, and a new one to be sent from the Netherlands, I finally received the replacement.

I set it up yesterday. It worked fine for 30 mins then started disconnecting again. So frustrating.

The issue clearly lies elsewhere, maybe with the hub of the connection to the base, who knows.

Im in touch with Logitech support but the process is slow and unsatisfactory.

I see @LOGI_Rich is pretty active here. Would you be able to help?

Can you better describe what happens when it disconnects? Anything happening in the OLED display of the base? Have you tried running it in PS4 mode? Have you also updated the firmware?

Firmware updated.

Most times (but not all) a message comes up on the screen saying controller disconnected.

Oled display often shows the flashing / rolling dots like at startup then platform selector. Sometimes it just freezes completely though.

Sometimes I can just push the PS button and it restarts, sometimes I have to switch the base off and on again using the switch at the back. Other times it crashes the game completely.

Never had this with my previous G29

You’ve got a ground loop issue somewhere, most likely. This can be tricky to fix but the usual things to try are:

1. If you’re using a sim rig then look into getting that grounded to earth.

2. Replace the HDMI cable between the console and display. The PlayStation and certain TVs in specific environments can definitely have ground loop issues. I’ve previously seen these things fixed by getting a good quality HDMI cable.

Ok thanks, will try the hdmi cable.

I'm using a wheel base, rather than a sim rig, not that it really matters.

How does the ground loop issue lead to the controller disconnecting?
