I'm having alot of trouble keepiong my drifts going in long corners like the ones in the complex string (the onews I highlighted in blue). How could I keep them going longer?

The following advice is if you're using the analog:
Alot of the trick to a long drift is the angle to power ratio. Starting out at a low angle and evolving it is at you go is the best way to do it. Letting go of the accelerator, using extra brake during, all are good techniques. Try and act like you WANT to go out into the grass and let it take it from there.

It also depends on your tires. SIMS will give you distance but you're going rather slow so the power doesn't overwhelm the angle. I personally like Super slicks because I can put more power into it, but it's not as smooth.

Sports tires...... ok then it's really going to be getting more angle and more gas along with it. Once you have it going, just stick with it and brake if you feel uncomfortable.

Waht car and waht HP. If you are using sport tires the car has to have kinda alot of HP to keep the tires slipping. If you are losing your drifts it may mean that your car isnt fast enough. Try a higher HP car or try normals or simulations

I'm using an FC with these settings that I got from a drift quide, the car has about 320 hp. The only difference is that I'm using sport instead of sims, I was using the car to unlock the tracks in arcade mode, it was fun beating faster cars (corvettes, rgt's, and zonda C12) with this FC, so I need a little more grip to go faster into the corner.

I'll try it tomorrow and see what advice I can give you. Right now it's 11:40 and I have work in the morning so see you guys later.

OK you are using Cudamans's settings. You need more HP for that. Those settings are for Sims. Im not sure, because IMHO getting someone elses settings is w/e. I believe you the person should find your own settings that you can drift with.
I've see in the GTPDC's that alot of pople have their camber to a high setting it might help them, but when i do that i get out my drifts faster. It's preference basically. What makes you drift good. Now for waht you are trying to do with sport tires i suggest a higher HP to keep those tires slipping :D

When you first buy a car. I first mess with the damper bound a rebound. when you are doing the inertia technique by side to side the damper bound/rebound and stabs helps. Try that first. Dont mess with the gear ratios are the lsd. Some cars like the s2k when the full customize lsd is in it's perfect that way. Well that's for me. It's preference. just go mess around with a car until you got a universal settings for you cars. :D

:EDIT: off to studying. good luck on your settings.

Where did you get that map? I would find those maps, very usefull. ;)

i woudl also find those maps useful ive seen the maps before ( red ones without the section numbers tho) i could print them out and write down where i mess up on each area.

my theory...........

to aim further use less angle. to slow down use more angle.
if car pull towards inside i gas it to make it pull out. if too much out i brake and than quickly gas to maintain the drift.
if you have throttle control down it should be no problem. the idea is to keep the car on the road.

sorry if it doesnt make sense put try to understand it.

A little contrived, but sound information, none the less.;)

I just did a yahoo image search and typed in "complex String". Drifting on sims I can get all the way around, its hard, but I can do it, I'm going to practice more tonight since I"m convinced school will be cancelled tomorrow since were getting sleet right now.
