Hello

I am looking to get a few PSN friends in place for the new year, I will be racing between now and then but its pretty busy. I would like to run with like minded racers would dont track cut, smash others off the track or go a into the first corner totally out of control. I am not the greatest but have been racing for a long time and had plenty of good races but it sucks when you get those types on the track. I am 38 (in Canada) and as far as I am concerned age doesnt really matter as long as we race with some respect.

Thanks for reading and I hope to run with you soon.

Your the kinda racer i've been looking for. We will have to hook up some time and get some clean races going. Looking forward to it.:)

I`m up for some good racing!

PSN: Spiran

I`m 18 from Scotland. Absolutley love touring car races.

Okay I'll add you guys....

The question is, if I see you guys online, how the hell do we actually get into a race together???

Feel free to add me.. always looking for decent people to race with. I'm 26.. own a SRT Challenger in real life so I like to toy around with that a lot hah.

EDIT: PSN is also Piler

I'm a (level 30) clean racer and really enjoy the the Nurburgring but will race all tracks.
I have a large collection of vintage cars, touring cars, super cars and a few others.
Also looking to trade hard to find cars. Send friend request anytime.

I'd like to race with you guys. But I've only one question, if I win, can I take the cash, and the respect? Because to some people that's more important.

I agree with you, I honestly could careless about the money and experience. Having a hell of a good time is what I'm looking for. People who cut me off or smash into me to get first are the ones that have no respect.

PSN: Vivacissimamente

Count me in too. I was pretty much purely a drifter in GT5P, but now that there are more cars with more options and more people to race with, I'm starting to like gripping a lot more. I'm pretty quick, and clean whenever possible.

It's slideSQAUD-M3, add me up.

Hi guys,

I'm always trying to race clean, but there are some moments when lost control as tried too hard to brake as late as possible.

Please do add me: SMS8283

Cheers,
Nicholas from Singapore :)

Please, please, for the love of cars, please don't refer to driving as fast as possible around a set course "gripping". Drifting is already a semi-stupid term. Unless of course you intend to use the term as an adjective ie: I find motor racing "gripping".

I find it's best to read the entire post before responding....

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gripping

grip·ping   /ˈgrɪpɪŋ/ Show Spelled
[grip-ing] Show IPA

–adjective
holding the attention or interest intensely; fascinating; enthralling: a gripping play; a gripping book.

Synonyms Include:

enthralling
fascinating
interesting
intriguing
consuming
exciting
riveting

In short, your usage annoys me because it is an incorrect usage of the term.

v. gripped, grip·ping, grips
v.tr.
1. To secure and maintain a tight hold on; seize firmly.
2. To hold the interest or attention of: a scene that gripped the entire audience.

he used the term gripping correctly

Lots of response this is good and my friend list has increased dramatically on PSN. I am wondering if there is a thread that already exists in GTP where you can post you are going to host a race so you can attract all the good people from GTplanet. I havent look very hard but I think it would be a good idea considering the amount of traffic here.

The reason I am asking this is because I am not sure if I can "blast" message to all my friends on PSN to say I am hosting or do I have to tell each one individually?

Clip

I guess we could just post in this thread when hosting.

I was doing some testing yesterday and if one of your friends is hosting or is engaged in a public or private race you can see the little "playing" icon next to thier louge icon under community. When you click on this you will be taken to wherever they happen to be racing. The coffe cup on the other hand will simply put you in thier lounge even if that is not where they are.

I consider myself a clean racer but I am also not above trading a little paint now and then. Most times I will drive like those I race against. If they drive agressively I will as well. If they try to take me out they will get the same in return. If they drive clean and avoid contact so will I as much as is possible. Sometimes thing just happen, especially in close quarters at high speed.

I drive with a wheel and for the most part can drive a good clean line. I never cut corners in races or at least not on purpose. If the car goes out of control or gets hit well what can you do.

In short, your usage annoys me because it is an incorrect usage of the term.

You can make up random examples for many words. Drifting could technically mean floating away, and yet it's an international term meaning controlled oversteer. Oh and by your logic, please please PLEASE don't use the word "gripping" to mean interesting, because it annoys me. :dunce:

Though I find your argument gripping, I should, nonetheless point out here that you need to read about adjectives vs adverbs...

Hi all,

I would like to have some decent races with you. I am getting a PS3 with GT5 for Christmas so will be online again soon (I bought a PS3 on launch day specifically to play the upcoming GT5, you know the rest!).

This will be my third PS3, but I will use the same PSN - Mavermick.

I'm no uber-racer, but get disheartened when people ram you off the road as if their lives depend on first place, so am looking forward to some clean, fun races. On Forza I got to the point where I would pull over at the start and let the first corner antics take place well ahead of me, I'm sure we can do better than that! Since selling my consoles I have played GTLegends and GTR 2 on the PC, which I can highly recommend.

Cheers - hope to see you soon! If I don't get any messages from here I will take down names and message people after a few weeks.

Hi guys , I'm from canada too, and I'm looking for racers who race with respect and responsibility.
Language: French, know a bit of english
Controller: G25 wheel

I too would like to race with a group like this, my PSN is in my avatar. See you around. Feel free to add me!!

I try to be as clean as possible add me PSN: asdfg11

I tend to follow people I know are clean around, eg join whatever lobby they are currently in with hopes that they did the same thing, resulting in a clean race!

I suspect it will get much worse after tomorrow (xmas) guys :(
