anyone here like lord of the rings? i think its a awsome movie,, i got it on dvd the day it came out... my fav character is legolas the elf master archer..

Dude, like the move. That guy's got infinite quivers... guess it's cause he's an elvin master!
 
I think you see him do it one time in the movie, but after a battle, he walks around collecting his arrows from the bodies, but otherwise I thought his 'infinite' quiver was kind of odd too.
Awesome movie though, not for people with short attention spans though.
 
This movie kicks infinite amounts of ass. I, too, also got it on DVD the day it was released. In November I'm also getting the extended edition that will comprise four discs.

Anyway , I thought the movie was very well done and I can not wait for the next two parts to come out.

Lord of the Rings was a great movie. The books are even better. So I don't know movie you were watching.
 
Great movie I too got the DVD and I can't wait for the Sequels :)
 
I really enjoyed The Fellowship and cant wait for the next two to come out. For people who have read the book and seen the movie. Is it worth reading the book after you've already seen the movie??

Definitely if you want to expand on what the movie provided you with. The book goes into more detail on romances and several other things involving the characters. It's not that long of a book either. (The Lord of the rings books were originally written as one, but the publisher had them split up.)
 
Awesome set of books. Actually, lots of the movie was word for word out of the books.

My favortie character was the balrog. No one even comes close to him/her/it
 
I read the books about 15-20 years ago, so the movie was like 2 and a half hours of the worst dose of deja vu you ever had! That said, it was a great film. My favourite parts were the sequennces where Frodo wore the ring - very dreamy and freaky, genuinely frightening.
 
I loved the movie. I'm going to test drive a KIA so I can get my Free Copy.
 
I watched it on dvd about a week ago now, then read the second and third book.


I can't wait to see the ents.
And the attack on ... Hallow forgot what it was called

the third movie though, i think it will be the best.

I'm looking forward to how they handle them as well.... just a few more months until The Two Towers, and another year on top of that to see the third movie. I hope I don't get run over by a car before then... my life wouldn't be complete. ;)
 
Dear god. I wonder how they are handling the 3rd book? Since the whole thing is pretty much comprised of battle after battle after battle.

The ents will kick ass after seeing what they did with the balrog.

Of couse, they cut the end out of the whole trilogy! The hobbits can't return back to hobbiton and settle things there, because they never introduced the conflict of the sackville baggins. Nore did he see it in the mirror.

Oh well. Thats one way to cut 150 pages out of a story
 
lol i think lebsta was to busy :eek: feeling up his girlfriend :eek: to be watching the movie, so lol if he woulda watched it he wouldnt have thought it was boring. :p :D
 
LOTR was just totally fantastic. Can't wait for the 2 Towers.

Yeah man, that was great how they did that. It was one of the cooler things, but it's hard to pick, the entire movie was so well done... For the guy who said that movie was boring, I just can't believe it. Did you even SEE the sets and scenery? That stuff was well worth the three hours alone. HUGE rock starcases, that beeyotchin' castle, all the mountains, creatures, and stuff on fire.

FRICKIN' WOW!

That was the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way about the DVD.

"Hey, you bought the wrong DVD! We're bringing out a special edition with more footage in November! Hahahahahaha...."

I mean, they put the trailer for the Special Edition on the regular edition disc...grr. :grumpy:

It wasn't a secret that they were doing the special edition for the fall. ;)
From what I understand they needed to finalize special effects for another 30 minutes + of film, plus 30 more minutes of music had to be composed. There's also a ton of extra deleted scenes (originally they planned to add 1.5 hours, but that wouldn't have been possible in a realistic sense.)
They put this version out for people that wanted the movie (and didn't want to buy a 80 dollar version)

I just wish I'd heard about it sooner. :irked:

It isn't going to cost $80. It's going to be under $30. Check out DeepDiscountDVD, Buy.com, DVDPlanet, or, hell, even Amazon. Unless you're getting the other edition with five discs and some book-ends... But I don't plan to do that.

I was well aware of two editions being released before I purchased any of them. For those that didn't know about it... it's their own fault. The information was out there for a long time. New Line announced it quite some time ago.
