omg, i just passed the pit stop one. used the DS3 controller and turned ABS to 0 and golded it on my first tried???? damn... i spend at least 40 mins last night on the DFpro. the key is the stupid ABS.

First thing I am gonna do when I get home, and afetr that with the price, run extreme Nascar Event.

I got gold on every nascar special event! (Though I hate nascar )
For the one you are talking about, what I did was:
1. Drive in bumber view
2. Get into the AI's draft as soon as possible
3. Turn as smoothly as possible (you will stay in the draft then and be able to pass the AI)
4.NEVER break

Also, you will pass the Ai in first on the second lap at the end of that last corner, then you have to block everyone so they can't get passed.

It's crazy how much the ABS (thus, ASM) being off helped. I was in 1st place on lap 1 of the second and third events... compared to not even being close with ABS(and ASM) on.

I have been banging my head off the wall trying to do this, turned off ABS and nailed the first and 3rd challenges with gold first attempt (already had gold on the 2nd one). Level 21 done!

Hey iv actually won this event. Wasn't too hard, just slipstream the car on the right until about halfway through the corner then pull away and you should be just behind the first car, slipstream him for about 2 seconds then pull off to the right and you should fly away with victory. Took me a few attempts to master it

NOTE TO EVERYONE ON THE NASCAR RACES:

In the driver settings, turn ABS OFF. You cannot turn off the stability control (which slows you down) unless you turn the ABS to "0". Doing so will turn off the stability control, making the car much faster in the corners.

Thanks so much, this keen advice has allowed me to gold the events i was having trouble with.

It even allowed me to succeed in non nascar events!

That stupid Target car sucks! Half the time he just gives up drafting you, screwing both of you over. I mean, it wouldn't be so hard if the guy behind you did his job. As Jeff said in the his interview: NASCAR drafting isn't about the car in front of you so much as it is the car behind you. The cars are heavy, and a car behind reduses drag, essentially making the car lighter.

You don't have to turn ABS off, if you have a DFGT you can open the driving aids menu and turn off ASM. You can keep TC at 1 and ABS at 1 if you so please.

HAHAHA, thanks so much. Turned ABS off and nailed the events. The 3rd Daytona one took me 5 tries as the cars kept ramming me off. Other than that an easy money X 3 to pocket.

Now I have gold all Gold in Special Events except for AMG and European tour.

I got it gold , just stick to cars, and dont let that green one get infront of you, he will slow you lot, I saved the video file cause I got more grey hairs cause of that race, did it like 1h30 try after try.

Amazed how much difference the ABS makes! Got all golds quickly now. Was a bit disappointed with my prize for beating all silver, the modern muscle mar - of all the Dodges and Chevrolets, I got (spoiler) a Ford Taurus...

FINALLY! GOT IT! BY .002!!! As I crossed the line, stupid AI rammed me and made me spin out, but I JUST made it! /Quit GT5 ... I need a break.

Don't worry, I beat Indy inside line by .000 and daytona outside by .001 both on first try.

It really is important to turn off ABS in all 3 races and in last race on Daytona you need to follow the dark car in front of you and ignore the red one...

I did the third one with ABS on and all other defaults.. the trick was to actually use the red car for a few split seconds of draft then quickly pass him and follow the black car up to the rest of the pack. Without that red car for a few seconds, I always lost touch with the black car by midway through the first turn. Using that technique, I was always in the top 3 or 4 by the end of the next straight away because it just let me blow by everyone by some magical force without drafting. Not sure if they were all decelerating or what.
