Watermelon -
I would be happy to test drive the cars you've listed.

I wonder if I already have them, let me check my garage for them......

Nope! Its off to the Dealerships for me!

I hope they're not all sold out...... they are all such excellant motors..... I may have to use a little bribery or pay more than list price!

I'll let you know...

NOTE: I'm also looking for someone to run them on a long to find out top speed.
all of the cars in the 2 lists (previous post) on a long straight (ssr or sarthe no chicanes, whatever you want) to find out the top speed and report if they hit the limiter or ride into the red. 👍

I did my own testing, mostly ignoring what you wrote to request in here . I followed what you said in the Mixer Thread. ...I hope you find it useful anyway. And that my opinion of a final combined list is valid.

I tested the first list of cars in the previous message, at Grand Valley East/Rev instead of Autumn Ring Mini (I think Grand Valley East has a great mixture of corners and short enough for consistent laps. And I like it :P).

A few of the cars have changed order since GT5...namely the Celica 1600GT, Lancer, 1300S, and GTI.

This is my suggested list:

1) Honda Civic 1500 3door CX '79: 1:27.937
2) Marcos Mini Marcos GT '70: 1:27.692 *Much better lap time with shorter straights likely

3) Nissan Skyline 2000GT-B (S54A) '67: 1:26.950 * Better performance due to more straights

4) Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto '66: 1:26.923

5) Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale '63: 1:25.580 *Performed slightly worse than GT5

6) Honda 1300 Coupe 9 S '70: 1:25.556 *Could be interchanged with the Giulia, slower than GT5

7) Toyota Celica 1600GT (TA22) '70: 1:25.248 *Not as sprightly as GT5

8) Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR '74: 1:24.921 *Much more sprightly!

9) Volkswagen Golf I GTI '76: 1:24.779

10) Mazda Cosmo Sport (L10A) '67: 1:24.491 *Still difficult to get the most out of

11) Mazda MX-5 Miata (NA) '89: 1:23.444 *I've never felt it fit in, not 'vintage' enough...See note on Elan

12) Fairlady Z 280Z-L 2seater (S130) '78:1:23.155 *Not on the test list, but if you wanted slightly faster. See notes.

Lotus Elan S1 ‘'62: 1:23.613

In my opinion, the Lotus could be substituted for the Miata in the list (or squeezed in between the Cosmo and Miata)...except for the fact its gearing is a bit short. It was into the redline at the end of the straight, maybe it could hit 115ish mph. It would be fine for most tracks, but the ones with long straights would be more of a problem.

Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) '68
Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) '71

I tested these but in my opinion they are too fast. The balancing of the Vintage Road Car group is perfect in my opinion, and I think these would disrupt it too much. They are 2 seconds faster than the Miata. Which is why I suggested the 280Z instead (the 280Z is also much prettier now, it's a semi-premium :sly:).

Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R '69

I did not test this because I didn't know it was on the list. I could tomorrow if you wished it.

Thanks for the laps.
And yeah, it's fine to pick your own track, as long as all the cars are tested on one track against each other, it makes sense.

Obviously I'm not going ot put them in order specifically based on your time alone at Grand Valley East Reverse... because it's not going to be 10 Longbowxs racing at GVER all the time.

And remember, the cars were ordered in GT5 based on more than just 1 person's laps.
IE: not just one person who happens to get a lot out of say, the Civic 79 ;) - when many people would consider it an automatic loser.

So they may not have changed at all since GT5... just that your personal experience at one track didn't shake out the same in the testing in GT5 with a bunch of people testing on different tracks.

I also wasn't intending, in case anybody thought so :odd: ... to definitely keep all cars & just shebang up the 2 lists willy-nilly. That's why I'm going through the trouble of soliciting times from various people on tracks that we might use in racing.

Oh wait, did you have times for the Fairladys?
Because I'm not giong to use your times unless you give me times for those.

(Just so you know, if you withhold those times thinking I'm going to cut those cars because you think they shouldn't be included, think again. :P I just won't be able to use your input. :( )

EDIT:
Plus the idea was I wanted to have more cars, so that there was more cars in each level as it were.
Not to replace certain performing cars with other similar cars.
I want actually more cars that are similar.
If that makes sense - I'm not sure how else to explain that.
But like I noticed that it's good having the 2 Civics assigned to both 1st & 2nd place...
But I'd rather have 2 different but similar cars nearby in the list.

I nearly rolled the Marcos at the 'Ring. Similar experience.

Well, I wasn't suggesting this was the final list and "let's go!". Just how I would order them with some of the observations I've seen in the Mixers as well. You do need more testing of course, I think this gives a decent "95% of pace" representation in terms of myself driving.

I think that GVE/Rev gives a better average representation than say...Autumn Ring Mini. The Marcos would jump up a few spots on the track. I do think though, that having that ability makes the races better. Then the order will be more..."mixed" depending on the course.

Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R '69: 1:26.109 *Slots in between the Alfas...even though I know you're not looking for a "between" car. It also might have a limiter problem, it was getting close, only has 4 gears.

Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) '68: 1:21.055
Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) '71: 1:21.368

EDIT:
You also put the 280Z's time behind the Miata's in the "chart" in the OP.

BMW 507 '57: 1:23.531 *Very nice driving...

Renault R8 Gordini '66: 1:25.493 *Requires complete shift in driving technique (RR). And likely some drifting. Short gearing also (115ish mph max) Advise that it not be used.

Nissan SKYLINE Hard Top 2000GT-R (KPGC10) ’70: 1:22.927 *Much more understeer than the '73, harder to drive.

I know I'm not posting this in the right place but which set of cars will we be using for the new scheduled makeshift mixers?

Probably some form of the lists on the #1 post in this thread.
So yeah, go on a shopping spree. :D

And don't worry about doing a dozen laps, it's not necessary.
I've been doing 4 laps each for the cars.
On Eiger I only did 2 timed laps (1 out-lap - the one that doesn't count, and then the 2 timed - so I stopped when it said 4 up in the upper left).
The pit lane is so long there.
(Luckily I never really messed up too bad so I usually got one of my 2 clean.)

As long as you do the same amount for each car. Like not doing 5 laps in one car and 2 in another. But you can do an extra lap for a car if you really mess up one of your laps, that would make sense.

Ok thanks and yeah it is really long like if you accidentally drove into pit lane while you were in first place it's like a death sentence

Alright here are my times on autumn ring mini. I turned all off assists except abs which was set to 1. I used comfort soft tires like you said. I ran 3 laps in each car and the times are all rounded to the nearest thousandths of a second.
Alfa Romeo giulia sprint speciale :48.506
Alfa Romeo spider 1600 duetto :48.144
Honda 1300 coupe 9 s :48.118
Honda 1500 3door CX :48.003
Isuzu bellet 1600 GT-R :48.372
Lotus élan s1 :47.750
Mazda Cosmo sport (l10a) :47.519

Volkswagen golf 1 GTI :47.758
BMW 507 :48.520
Nissan fairlady Z 280Z-L 2 seater (s130) :47.600
I even got the last two that watermelon asked for
Notes: Honda 1300 coupe 9 s lost a lot of rpms when exiting corners
Mazda Cosmo sport was surprisingly quick and easy to control very fun to drive
Mini Marcos was pretty fast around the ring and quite maneuverable. But I'm aware that the Marcos will not stand a chance on a course that relies on speed
Mazda miata I don't think fits in the vintage road car class. I know you don't like to cross off cars so maybe you could try to use in a compact sport car makeshift mixer
Mitsubishi lancer was also another surprise as it had great acceleration compared to the other vehicles of its size that I tested
Nissan fairlady sr311 unexpectedly quick I would put it the vintage sports cars rather than road cars
BMW 507 suffered from under steer. It was still a beautiful car though.

I should hopefully get those times for eiger nordwand today.
