I get that the point was to make a great "modern" top-down racer, but that design choice does seem questionable with high-fidelity and occasionally murky/obscured visuals, handling that appears to be at least Trackmania-tier, and that kind of pace on tracks that stretch beyond the confines of a single screen. It even boasts split-screen local multiplayer, which I'm picturing in my head as kind of a harsh compromise for four players.
I can get down with top-down racers, but with that much polish it looks like it would be more impressive as a "normal" indie racing game.
