Did actually manage to beat both Record 0 and Record X with the NSX, but it required a special tune from the legendary tuner and luck with traffic on both instances.

The tune cost 10 million credits. Both cars got tangled with traffic just enough for me to slip by and gain enough distance, but it was close.

Checking their cars in the dealership, the Lancer has speed metric of 785,73 and the R34 a whopping 812,54.

Would still need 1858BP to unlock the engine swap for this playthrough.

Spend my first hour with the game and I am overwelmed by all the options and skilltrees. Part I've must have forgotten since my last Genki games where on ps2 🤣

Just love how this feels as a complete game. Progress, gameplay , game design brings me back to late 90 early 2000.

I just hope they revive Kaido Battle since those were my absolute favorite Genki games.

With their latest installment seems like Genki is back on track and I love it 👌

Save your battle points as much as you can, if you're not on easy mode and want to unlock engine swaps on the first playthrough.

It takes 3000BP just to unlock that, but you need a bit more to unlock perks before it.

Center of attention + Pioneer's secret are what cause the stacked damage. Aura of dignity sure helps a few meters, but those first two are what insta-kills their entire SP bar, even if they have defensive skills. Throw Aura of dignity on top to make it happen quicker, but insta kill still works fine without it.
Also this.

This game is just good old-fashioned fun and I love it for that. It comes from a place of passion, where the "bottom line" is second to the creative process. So many developers these days are obsessed with profit margin, making half-arsed games which are made to fill a quota and keep investors happy. Through this process, we get games that lack polish, passion and pizzaz, thus subverting the very purpose of a video game itself: to entertain us. It's good to know that there are still people out there who want to make a quality game that is fun. I'm very much having that in my RX-8, which has proven to be a fantastic choice with it's great handling. I do have a soft spot for the RX-8, as I had one in Midnight Club LA and Need For Speed Underground 2. I cannot deny my love for this rotary-powered machine with funny doors, so finding success with it in another video game makes me happy.

Another strat could be NG+?
That’s the idea i’m going with.

So after racking up 380 rivals defeated, I went up against Kawagoe Handsome, a Wanderer who’s requirement is said number of rivals defeated, he runs a newer Toyota Supra with speed metric of 700, well over 200 More than Gloomy Angel’s RX8 I used up to that point. :scared:

So I took a gamble, I bought the Midnight Palmo 300ZX and swung for the fences, lost the first battle, but got lucky on race 2, unlocked his Supra, sold the 300ZX, bought the Supra and then blitzed the last of stage 4 and breezed through stage 5 with it.

Took out Record:0, bought its Skyline, used it to take out the other Records, Revenge Eyes and a few other Wanderers.

I did use a GTR to get past Unrivalled Emperor and get his car, now I’m using those custom cars on New Game+ to not only complete the story fully, But hopefully (knocks on wood) do it without losing once. 😳

This is the way to all achievements/trophies. Personally I could not bother with the 'zero losses' one. Note on that trophy: draws are fine, it only checks losses.

As someone who completed the career at least a dozen times: saving 3000 BP on your first run just for the engine swaps is a really bad strategy. Spend those BPs on stuff you like, get the GTR for endgame. Go for the trophies on your NG+ run. Same for engine swap: you get to keep your cars on NG+ so you don't need the BP per se. But don't waste 3000BP on your first run, it's better spent elsewhere. Personally, I think they should lower the engine swap BP requirements significantly, as it opens up the game instead of focusing on two hero cars.

Got absolutely lucky last night. The NSX-R is nowhere fast enough to usually take on the three Record drivers, but, besides beating Lancer and R34 previously, I also managed to beat the 3000GT with the help from traffic and extra boost from legendary tuner.

Driving after 3000GT on the C1 outer loop, I tried many times to challenge him on the twisty bits without luck.

Then, on the last curve before the downhill straight to Ginza, I flashed him and we were off. He immediately collected a traffic car and I managed slip by on the right.

After that it was just pure luck I didn't hit any of the middle-of-the-road post on the Ginza straight and got my victory.

Decided to buy the Record's R34 for Revenge Eyes. Let's see if it can beat him and the second (original) emperor.

So, umm... yeah. May not have been the smartest thing to do...

:dunce:

EDIT: hopefully this is now fast enough to beat the last few opponents...

The GT-R engine gives better stats fully tuned then the Lexus V10, otherwise would have used that.

EDIT 2: bayshore sheriff is an asshole. Tried with the swapped NSX-R and R34 and only won him with the latter because I once again got lucky with the traffic.

He keeps pushing you from the beginning and then takes off. If you manage to overtake him, be prepared to block heavily because he gets a massive speed boost mid battle and then he's gone if you're not carefull.

Haven't tried the old Skyline from Daikoku with swapped cars yet, but previously my stock R34 got left in the dust. That KPGC-10 ain't stock, no matter what the character claims. The speed metric was over 400.

Also battled Rindo twice, both times were easy peasy. She starts from the same parking lot as the sheriff, but only appears on weekends.

The Emperor has fallen!

Managed to make a winner out of the NSX-R. 🥳

Had to fiddle with the gear ratios after the first loss and still not really happy with them, but got the victory and that is all that matters. :D

Like I said, I used the V6 out of the R35 GT-R, but this time managed without the Legendary Tuners help.

At the second race, I got left behind immediately, but nitros pulled me through in the end.

Perks I used were fully maxed Pioneer's Secret, Center of attention and Aura of dignity.

I think that last one could be better replaced by maxed Overflowing composure. Less change of losing SP in the start before nitros start pulling thru. Tried maxing it out before the race but didn't have enough BP.

Still have some Wanderers to beat, just need the cars for them. And BP to unlock said cars

Anyways, bought the Unrivaled Emperors R34. Time to go trounce that sheriff dude... :mischievous:

Also, please ignore the crappy livery. 🤪

Still mulling on buying this game considering it does not offer FFB according to reviewers who played it on a wheel. They did say some nice things, including a much better handling model than TXR3 (which is a plus for me, personally).

Thrustmaster T598 user here.

The problem for me is that you need to steer harder and quicker the faster you go. It has that arcade pseudo-understeer feeling when you use the wheel. Not nearly as bad as Flat out, but it's more like a 360 degrees lock game.

Here's a bit better gearbox values from my GT-R powered NSX-R.

All I did was basically move the final drive to the right a bit, didn't touch individual gears from what they were on my first try.

Keeps up and passes Snake Eyes and Swift emperor easily without nitrous, but need nitrous for Revenge Eyes and Unrivaled Emperor.

EDIT: if anyone has good tuning tips for the suspension, I'm all ears. Using direct steering on DS5 and I still can't take sharper corners without hitting the walls, unless I brake down to crawl.

A teaser image of the new collaboration was discovered on Twitter.

This appears to hint at a collaboration with model car brand Mini GT, as the teaser image shows their project car, the Datsun Sunny Truck MINI GT RS-02X "Kagami".

Will this car be appearing in the game?
Or, since they're a model car brand, will they release an iconic model of the TXR25?

The Sunny Truck was already in TXRD2, so hopefully we'll get the stock Sunny Truck as DLC in addition to this Mini GT modified truck.

Same. I’m also trying to play around with the brake bias. I can’t and refuse to LiCo like it’s Formula 1 😅

Did I do something wrong or does the GR Yaris actually overheat quick? It's on Power 7, max intake and max exhaust. My FD with the same upgrades didn't overheat as quick.

but you’ll need to consider oil and water temps. Certain cars also have more effect on the temps fyi.
cars with big turbos overheat faster, GR Yaris has one of the biggest turbos in the game, hit auto drive feature after a race to cool down the temps.

Had a couple scary moments as I got closer to the end including a very lucky escape against Record X in the C1 Ginza section. :scared:

Bayshore Sheriff was a big worry, same for Unrivalled Emperor, paid through the nose on getting the Legendary Power Unit bump up to over 1200hp for the GTR.

Swapped out my pure aggression Skill set up for maxed out, Acceleration Addict, Burning Spirit and Unwavering Confidence.

But the end result speaks for itself. 😅👍

I'm planning on getting this one during NG+ run and honestly it scares me. Especially Unrivalled Emperor.

I just use my typical “cheat sheet” that seems to work for any game I play

Are the AI still crazy fast and aggressive as of latest version? I'm thinking about getting the game on Steam but I've read nightmare stories of players being often spun out or flat out rammed by AI that can't take corners.

Edit: Also, is the car limit better than in TXR 3 where I could only have something like 5 cars?

Finished the true ending just today, currently grinding the days until 365 days for achievement and then I'll go to NG+

AI are crazy fast in endgame. 2 in particular kind of depends on luck in my experience (beat both of them because they crashed into the toll booth).

Car limit can be expanded to more than 20 I think. I have 16 currently and haven't bought all the perk tree for garage expansions.

Garage limit when fully expanded is 120 cars, so room for all the regular cars, plus quite a few Custom Cars that take your fancy. 😉
