PC Version Warning: If something happens to your PC (specially if your HDD/SSD dies) you might not be able to use your cloud save because it cannot detect Meloco's DLCs. It seems to be delisted. If anyone knows how to fix this, let me know.

Decided to pick this up a couple of days ago. Never played a game in the series before this, so I didn't really know what to expect too much. But man, it's super enjoyable. Really gives me a strong PS2 era arcade racer vibes. Started off with the AE86. Grinded enough to the 2012 86. Sold the AE86 to buy the Suzuki Alto ( 😍 ). Now switched to the EK, which seems to be pretty handy for early game.

I'm not creative when it comes to livery editors. Here's my attempt a Spoon(-ish) style EK. lol

After 30 hours, I've finally completed the story and have only the wanderers left to beat. I'll do that before starting NG+, which I'm very much looking forward to.

As for the latter stages, I chose the GTR ('17) below, which felt like a cheat code but was fun pulling 400kph like nothing.

Stage 4 and Stage 5 were also very short in comparison to the previous ones but it was a lot fun collecting the auras like Thanos collecting the infinity stones.

I have previosuly promised myself to give a proper shot at the livery editor and do something that would or could make the car fit in the TXR lore/universe. I spent way too much time on this 😅

I'm finally down to the last two wanderers before hitting NG+. I should have easily wrapped up my first playthrough by now but I've had way too much fun testing cars around the C1 loop. Because of this, I ended up finding my new favoruite thing in the game, the FD RX7. Absolutely love this car.

I've yet to hit the 3000km requirement to be able to battle Indomitable Alexander but should be no issue racking up those kilometers in no time with the FD RX7.

Still expirementing with the livery editor. Trying to be creative on my own or simply take inspiration form the real world.

Frustrating at times but what a load of fun. Easily the best fun I've had with a racing game since Wreckfest. Shout out to the GR Yaris. Before switching to the R35 (which made the last bit of the game an absolute cakewalk). The little Yaris did the heavy lifting thru the middle section. I'm just short of the hitting the 'drive 1000km in the same car' achievement with it.

(Still rubbish when it comes to the livery editor but I was quite happy with how this turned out)

I've got like 50 odd wanderers to do before trying NG+.

I've now almost wrapped up my first playthrough after 40 hours. Beaten the remaining two wanderers last night and then ??? finally appeared. I got lucky as the battle with ??? took place on the last stretch of the Bayshore Wangan Line before Tatsumi PA and he crashed into traffic, handing me an easy win.

I just got to unlock two tedious trophies, Power of Continuation and Bookworm, and then it's NG+...at last.

When I finished the story, I had approximately between 55-60 wanderers left. I thought it was going to take me ages to do due to various requirements but it went suprisingly fast and easy. I recommend using this guide published on Steam.

Awesome Ride!
In my case, I kinda tried to give it a color scheme similar to the Mid-1990s Williams F1 cars. Might make something more similar to the real thing.

New update on steam.
They added Master-Tune for New Game+
Sounds neat. Might give it a go depending on feedback from the community if I ever get to a second NG+ playthrough.

Added Features

The following features have been added:

MASTER-TUNE

When starting over from the beginning with New Game+, you can now choose a new mode.

MASTER-TUNE Overview

MASTER-TUNE is a mode where you adjust your car's speed metric through tuning and settings, using a speed metric set for each rival as the upper limit, to battle in a state that closely matches the performance of your opponent's machine.

Additionally, since the overall level of rivals has increased, the amount of BP you can earn when you win will be greater.
Plenty more info in the link below:

Cool! Some of the 80-90's F1 liveries were excellent. I'm personally a sucker for the Benetton liveries.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I've been trying to get the PS trophy for winning a duel with zero grip tyres.

I've installed soft tyres and then ran them to red, then challenged wanderers, bosses and normal drivers to duels, both cruising around the roads and the ones on rest stops.

Yet I haven't got the trophy. Tried several cars, all with soft tyres that have been driven to red.

Do I need to fullfill some other arbitrary and undisclosed requirement besides the tyre gauges being empty and red?

Apart from completely worn tires, it needs to be done with a rival that you have not yet defeated. Already defeated rivals and traffic don't trigger the achievement. That bolded part is why the achievement is really annoying. I'm pretty certain that I just gave up and waited for my new game plus run to get the trophy for that reason.

Thanks for the answer. I have few wanderers left to defeat, just need the right cars for them.

But seriously, would it be too hard to tell the players, that the opponent has to be undefeated, somewhere in the trophy text?

Trust me, people have complained about that for a while on Steam. It's one of those things people have been begging to have Genki mention way back when Steam achievements were initially released in the Beta. Seems like it would be very little effort to reduce the stress of most people playing the game.

It was one of the trophies where I had to pause the game and Google the actual requirement as it was driving me insane.

Defeated several rivals prior but the trophy never popped, until you learn this very fact…

NVM. Just had to download the DLC from the game's properties.

Wonderful game, emphasis on 'game' (take note PD), been playing ten days or so and beat ??? this morning. A couple of grindy trophies still to mop up (like the 365 days one), and many opponent cars I'd like to buy, but now wondering about NG+.
What's it for exactly? I get that if I want to attempt the zero-losses playthrough trophy I'd have to try it, but other than that, is there a good reason?
If it were a harder level I'd get the idea, but...
What is it you actually carry over to NH+? Garage cars (with upgrades etc)? Money in the bank? Skills/tuning etc unlocks? If so, I don't really get it at all except to attempt a no-loss trophy attempt using OP cars and lots occasional detours to the title screen. Is that the point?
Tempted to stick with normal game for a bit to collect more cars, play with liveries and build up the bank balance in the hope a DLC might arrive later in the year. Is the original playthrough save lost when you start NG+, or could you delete the NG+ save data at some point and return to original? And when you reach true ending of NG+, what jappens, are you offered another restart (NG++)?

The real car looks better than I thought so I decided to copy you.

Can you tell me how you obtained the Art of comeback trophy? Only clue I found from net is to battle traffic cars 5 times for it.

How much lead do I need to give them before overtaking?

You need 5 consecutive REVERSAL ATTACKs in a row. Easiest way is to let a traffic car get 25 meters ahead then pull at least 25 meters ahead yourself.

I think until your SP starts to take damage then you overtake them.

MASTER TUNE MODE!! Anyone got far with this yet? With Skills and Nitro disabled?

Got my Platinum Trophy at the weekend (basically a NG+ speedrun in the GTR 17 to acquire the two trophies I didn't/couldn't get on first playthrough), and restarted NG+ in Master Tune mode (with Skills and Nitro disabled for a more 'realistic' experience) and WTH?
Completed Stage 1 (350 speed metric) with the AE86, but now stuck at Stage 2 (400 sm). Is there a meta car or setup secret, something I'm missing? Seems impossible. Every opponent is so different, some are just about beatable, but most just shoot off, uncatchable... Tried with 180sx and RX7FD so far, but looks like a very big ask. Even Rolling Master and Happy Chappy were hard to beat at Stage 1 with the AE86 tuned to the 350 limit, but at 400 even the lower team members seem untouchable. Relying on their crashes doesn't make for a great gaming experience.
If anyone has got further than Stage 1 please let me know how you've managed it...
