March-Update/DLC delayed

PD found out about Forza's Porshe dlc, realised their own offering was pathetic by comparison
so they decided to delay it to avoid looking mediocre when compared to their rivals.
My best guess on the delay.

How does that make sense?Considering the porsche dlc does not come out for fm4 till the 22nd of may.

The forza fans has to wait for Porsche on the 22nd of May so that's awhile. :sly: Besides guys, our next DLC and update is on May also. :) Can't wait for March's DLC and update, hope it'll be big from the delay. GT4 tracks anyone?

We get another car pack in April and I think beginning of May too. ;)

That is not a valid enough reason to delay DLC.
My prediction is the may dlc will be awesome.
Spec 2 release date = Forza 4 release date
awesome may dlc release date = Fm4 porsche expansion release date

I didn't see much difference than what's already in our Photo Section. It's anonymous, which is nice because I don't want everyone's opinion (good or bad), and may reach a wider audience than GTP.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Since the Porsche DLC for FM4 comes out in May, there's no need for PD to worry about it now. This means that PD delayed it for another reason.

Yeah thats what i'm thinking,and because this is a substantial expansion for Fm4(it also includes new events and the like)so hopefully we GT players will be getting something epic :) 👍
 
Seems crazy not to have any rating or filter system. Anonymous is not the way forward either.

What are they up to?
 
I actually think it's pretty clever. Thinking of buying the game? Check out the photostream to see the sorts of things people are doing: cue list of photos depicting pretty much everything people have conceived of to do in the game, including the not-so-"serious" stuff (because you're only a real gamer if you do "serious" stuff); i.e. they're showcasing the idea that it's your game, you do what you want with it. I don't know about you, but that latter point is pretty refreshing in this world of endless control and sanitisation. (Emergent behaviours are always more interesting than hard-coded ones.)

Yeah, maybe it is a marketing ploy, but it's nice just to flick through the shots every now and then, too. I'm not that big on the concept as a whole, but I'm content that PD are capable of working on more than one project / feature at a time. Who knows, in the future, they might make more of it (e.g. adding a rated mode, but keeping the fully random mode as it stands as an option), but for now it's fine as a simple distraction.

I still await further info, of course, before making any kind of "judgement".

Can't people stop thinking only about their own desires?

It is a waste of time for YOU.

As I said before, nobody knows but probably Photo Stream was planned since the beginning of GT5 development...

And people in Asia seem to be enjoying it. And if we think about it, it can be a good tool for us. If we find a nasty bug or glitch, we start sharing dozens of pics of it and that'll make easier for PD to see and fix.
 
I'am pretty sure the people who manage the GT website are not the same people that create game content. Its just a online feature. The pictures were always stored online and now you have a page that displays them. No 'development time' wasted.

I honestly don't believe this photo stream was made by game developers. The system was already there. Every time you shared a photo it "uploaded" I just think some web developers made it accessible from a browser. I do not think that hurts the the time spent to improve game play, but I can't really see the problem with game play. I think it flow perfectly both off and on line.

I just want more tracks, and I can't see a web designer do that work.

Well if true then it's impossible to be delayed.
You can't delay something that wasn't announced.

Only problem with that theory is Spec 2 really wasn't that great.

I suppose you are probably right. Can you view your friends shared photos in game though? I couldn't seem to find any. That's the kind of feature I'd like to see for photo sharing.

Well maybe to you, but I found it to be legit.

Spec 2 didn't add much features though. Hopefully a Spec 3 update is a GT6 Prologue of sorts...That is if they do a Spec 3.
 
Now it says that the Photo Stream is delayed, I don't see anywhere anything that said the update itself was on hold.
Just saying,.....

It is actually very much wroth there time. By have real pictures of game play being shown to these who may not have the game yet and want to know what it looks like, a spot to see non photo enhanced game play shots is nice too have. With pr shots you never really know what your getting. With the Photo Stream a costumer would be able too see just what the game looks like before he/she picks it up. It is actually quite a good pr tool for PD. They have confidence in there game enough to show off are non retouched shots.
