Haha! That made me wonder though....what if Bowser wore a blue shell instead of a green shell? Would it make a difference? Anyway, does anyone have a favorite kart combo yet(kart, tires, glider)?
 
I actually have a few favorites based on how they look, there doesn't seem to be too much differences in the parts this time round, compared to 7. :lol:

Mr Scooty/Pipe frame
SLick/Crimson Slim
Regular Glider

@GranTurismo916 I'll send you a request when Wii Party U finishes downloading. I knew Mario Kart would be huge for the Wii U! It just shows what potential it has, so don't count it out of the 8th generation race just yet!

Speaking of Wii Party though, it seems Club Nintendo is offering me another free game. I've already got the code for Wii Party U, but when I went back to "Earn Coins" the "Qualified for a free game" window is popping up. Too bad I already have the other three games.

150cc obliterated, not onto Mirror. :scared:

The A.I. are so damn aggressive this time around, the green shell hits they pull off are, what can only be described, as magnificent.
 
That is so true, I get annihilated frequently but lucky for me the further behind I am the more motivated I get, so I often am able to make up ground and get the win. It doesn't happen all the time though.
 
I seem to be very different :lol:

I love the new coin item, mainly because it can stop 1st from defending 24/7 which made it impossible to catch up unless a Blue Shell came. Which made the racing very boring when I was 2nd in MK7 online.

I really don't see the 150cc difficulty. I do lose at times but that is usually because I made a driving error other than that it is rather easier than the other 150cc. Also Blue Shells seem to be very much a less of a threat. I only got 1 blue shell screwover. Other times it hit, I either get back in the lead anyway or still in 1st.
 
It's not the blue shell that's the difficulty bringer, it's the phenomenal accuracy of the A.I.!
 
They are accurate. They even show off by blocking Red Shells by actually letting go of their item instead of Blocking and if you see my Roy vs. Morton (first time doing 150cc) video Mortons green shell shot was surprising accurate. However for some reason I don't find 150cc hard.
 
It's just a pain to 3-star the first time around.

The A.I. take shortcuts for the first time too.
 
They have done that ever since Mario Kart Wii 150cc.

You don't really need to go back to the 150cc cups anyway. If you 3 Star all the Mirror Cups all the lower class cups will be 3 starred too.
 
I can't remember them ever doing it to the extent in MK8 though, I've seen them use the grass plenty of times.

So far my favorites are the Pipe Frame, Sports Coupe, Sport Bike, and Yoshi Bike, running on Slick or Slim tires. I like most of the gliders, so I pick whatever.
 
Right now, I got numerous of combinations I really love and use constantly but I'll always use the MKTV Parafoil.

Some include:
Mach 8 + Slim
Circuit Special + Azure Roller
Circuit Special + Standard Blue
Circuit Special + Sponge
Prancer + Wooden
Standard Kart + Slim
Standard Bike + Roller
Standard Bike + Monster
Sport Bike + Slick
Sport Bike + Monster
Jet Bike + Monster
Standard ATV + Azure Roller
Standard ATV + Roller
Standard ATV + Slick

I use the Circuit Special and Standard ATV combos the most though.
 
I find the Sport Bike insufferable, inside drifting just doesn't agree with my play-style at all. It's also kind of useless for those tracks with long winding hairpin turns. Well, if you intend to hold a single drift anyhow.
 
It took awhile to get used to for me, especially with the fact Bikes have terrible grip but with the help of Monster tyres, I got used to them and can use them to my advantage.

Anyway, have any of you guys seen those Mario Party "Luigi wins by doing nothing" videos? I made a MK8 version here:

Does anyone know how to save the slo-mo in a replay? I want slow motion to show just how close Peach and I were, you can't really tell in the full speed video.
 
Isn't there a 'Edit Highlights' button in MKTV? I'm not sure but I think there is.

I just had a pretty awesome race at Bowser's Castle. I'm starting to get better with the Fire Flower as you can see at 0:17, that was a race winning attack! Now its off to Rainbow Road to try to get 3 stars for the 150cc Special Cup.
 
Yeah, there is an edit button but I can't figure out how to actually make it save my changes.
 
A bit off-topic.

I'm trying to enable DMZ so I can play MK8 online but in Technicolor Gateways settings, I can only assign games and applications to something which I don't understand.

Can anyone help me?
 
I love playing this game with my brother but I think he finally threw the towel to race with me.

We always do 100cc and he always rages (in a very angry way) whenever he can't get close to me and blames it on everything but his driving skill; from playing as Lemmy, his kart designs (he even copies my kart designs), item system, A.I, my tactics with items, A.I and I taking shortcuts and even when I am far ahead of him. It is pretty hilarious though :lol: (I sound so cruel).

Surprisingly, I'm better in 150cc than 100. :odd:
 
Had some great races with @Wolfe tonight, even with the servers playing the joker for most of the night. After eight races our record stands at 4-4. It was THAT close. :D
