Sweet, that's great news! I got mine through Game Stop so I don't know if they were doing anything special or not.

I will try the tracks but I think I'll like Mount Wario the most (why does Wario have the best tracks).

Mount Wario looks really good, and I love the 'drag racing' tracks because of the variety they bring. It would be amazing if we were getting a demo, it's a shame we aren't but I suppose it keeps the hype up.

I was listening to Cloud Cruise, and I could hear some Mario Galaxy music toward the end of it, I'm surprised we don't have a more galaxy centric level...hearing that just made it cruel.

I'm kind of glad we don't have a demo, it will make getting the game on release that much more exciting. As for the music I hope they throw some from 3D World in there, especially the music from the Bowser battles, those were amazing!
 
Well, the entire soundtrack is out and it has been performed live(for the game) by the 'Big band' who also done 3D World!

Have I added you on Wii U yet? :)

Awesome! I just got to thinking, can you use the original Wii remote without the Motion Plus for 8? I can't even remember if you could on the Wii version.
 
That's very positive news for both the controller and the review. I'm glad to see the first one is a high rating, bodes well for the rest. I watched the GameXplain video and it seems to be the best non-car racer out there. I have very high hopes right now.

I just sent you a request. I just realized that this will be the first time I've used my Wii U for online multiplayer.
 
Likewise, it's been all local multiplayer and single player for me so far!
 
I've been watching a lot of videos, and it seems 8 is going to blow the Wii version out of the water. It seems like it's going to be more skill based than "Wii" was. I hope some of my Gran Turismo experience will pay off now. :lol:
 
Sounds like it's going to meet or exceed our expectations then, is certainly is for me. I keep watching videos of it, and it still amazes me how good this game looks, I think I may have underestimated the Wii U hardware.

On another note, I hate how the limited edition set is going to be released in one store in New York City. That pretty much prevents 98% of the United States from getting access to it. I don't have a clue why they don't allocate some to major stores around the country, like GameStop or Best Buy.
 
It seems a really silly thing to do considering we are getting the exact same bundle(and more) pretty much from the online Nintendo store. :lol:

But, suppose it's a limited edition for a reason.

That review is even more impressive because it's from EDGE, who are notoriously harsh.

That was pretty harsh. I didn't play the Wii version much, but from what I did play it was very enjoyable. Like we said earlier though, I'm glad 8 is much more balanced. I can't wait until the review embargo is lifted, I'd like to see what sites like IGN and Gamespot say about it, because as from what I've heard they've tended to be "anti-Nintendo" in the past. Those gifs look amazing! The last one actually reminds me of Kart Space from GT5/6.
 
I never trust IGN scores. I hear they get payed to say nice and bad things about some products.

Can you do ATVs only in Tournaments and VS. I would love to have an ATV Rally-type event at Mount Wario :)?

Any sources to back that up? A lot of people say a lot of things, and a lot of it is BS.

I only hear it. Though to me IGN scores aren't very reliable to me because most of the games they bash, I tend to like.

A review is simply one persons opinion. There are some reviewers on IGN I'm not particularly fond of because I usually don't agree with them and I feel they're biased, but there are also a few reviewers who I find myself agreeing with most of the time too. I don't pay any attention to scores either, I generally just watch video reviews to see what the gameplay is like and I base my decision off that.

Speaking of vehicle types, what does everyone plan on using the most? For me it will probably be karts because I like the idea of a higher top speed, followed by bikes and then ATVs.
 
Do they still have something similar to double dash? I really loved double dash because it allowed you to hold two power ups and was quite cool to have two characters in each kart.
 
No, there are no 2 people in 1 kart this time around i'm afraid, even though all the MKs of recent times have built upon the new features, I think dual karts are more restrictive in terms of design.

Mine would be Karts than ATVs than Bikes. I don't like any of the Bike Bodies except the Standard and Sport.

Speaking of Bikes, I'm worried that the outside drifting Bikes and ATVs will have a disadvantage to the other vehicles. Karts have better Speed to compensate for the inside drifting bikes.
