I did Roy for that one, just because I like to do different characters from time to time.

I also saw your attempt at N64 RR.

I'm horrible at it. Just can't get those drift points right, really bugs me.

Had to bust out the Bowser-speed @RESHIRAM5

I'll go get Uncle Morty after school (how do you keep beating my times easily).

It's not easily, believe me.

How's everyone's playtime looking so far? I'm sitting just over 42 hours.

I haven't checked my log in awhile.

Really? You seem to beat my times rather quickly so it feels like you did it flawlessly ? I guess I need Uncle Morty to decide that.

See my challenge suggestion in the conversation?

I'm very very OCD about how I take my corners in TIme Trial mode, so If I even lose a tiny bit of time, I restart. The times I finish are usually the ones I beat my record on.

I'm a bit like that though I can take mistakes. At least I still have my N64 RR record to be thankful for (though now I need to beat @Wolfe).

Would any of you guys be interested in a weekly Time Trial Challenge with different rules etc. each time?

Sorry for Double Post.

@Wolfe nice job on your 0.01 faster time at Mario Kart Stadium but now you must deal with Uncle Morty :p.

Here is the first challenge for you all that are interested.
GTP Mario Kart Time Trial Challenge: Week 1
Retro Grand Prix
SNES Donut Plains 3

Rules
Characters allowed:
Mario
Luigi
Peach
Yoshi
Toad

Koopa
Bowser

Kart Parts allowed:
Body: Pipe Frame

You can submit a time up to 5 times for this Challenge

How to Submit???
Follow these steps.

1. Add me (so I can find your videos).
2. Set a time
3. Edit the Highlight Reel so it'll be 30-60 seconds then upload it to MKTV (Youtube is optional)
4. I'll watch them and write the times down and I'll announce the top 5 at the end of the week

PS: the preview is my first submitted time.

So, DLC confirmed in the form of Amiibo...who are we all wanting to see ideally then? I wouldn't mind Captain Falcon. :p

I'm never liked this toy idea to begin with and kind disappointed that I have to get one for DLC -_-.

Getting a good time on SNES Donut Plains 3 is fustrating, the grass always messes me up.

This. It's really annoying and usually more expensive than just buying something from the store on the console.

I feel like I want to share some of my opinions on the tracks

Top 3 Best Tracks:

3: Rainbow Road
I love the unique atmosphere of it feeling like a stadium instead of a drive through space and the corners are very tough to master even on Inside Drifiting Bikes making this a fun challenge

2: Mario Circuit
There isn't any other track that does Anti-Gravity better. It actually does feel like you are using anti-gravity in this track which I do find a little bit unnoticeable on other tracks. With the track almost completely being Anti-Gravity allows for a lot of bumping fun, which also great for trying out the bump boost mechanic

1: Dolphin Shoals
Water is my favourite element in almost everything. I love the underwater driving mechanic though it is very underused which is a big disappointed but Dolphin Shoals lights up the mechanic. First of by jumping in and out of the water with Dolphins then going through bubble blowing pipes which showcases the gravity change underwater and then riding on top of an eel. This track showcases the joyment of Underwater driving and I hope they acknowledge this mechanic later on.

Top 3 Worst Tracks:

3: Bone Dry Dunes
There isn't anything wrong with this track, it drives well but the issue is that it has no pizazz unlike the other tracks which makes this track feel out of place. I can;t think of anything remarkable about this track except the Dry Bowsr reference but you only see it for a few seconds.

2: N64 Toad's Turnpike
I was never a fan of this track to begin with (except in Mirror), a plain and boring open road and nothing has changed much here except it is now more spread out.

1: GCN Dry Dry Desert
I loved this track in Double Dash, the quicksand was simple yet fun to avoid being sunk down. The tornado was fun to dodge and the short big section provided a lot of spreading to get the item boxes and avoid the pokeys. This remake was a huge disappointment. The tornado is gone and while the oasis add one was cool, it got rid of all the enemies making this track way to easy and I find it hard to believe that this is in the Banana Cup.

I absolutely love the idea of Amiibos because they are official Nintendo merchandise goddammit, there's a 90% chance I can now own some Punch-Out statues and that is incredible.

Also, resell able DLC.

Best:
1. Rainbow Road U
Tokyo Drift style.

2. Mount Wario
Incredible track from start to finish, feels like SSX

3. Shy Guy Falls
SInging Shy Guys ftw

Worst:
1. Cheep Cheep Beach
Hideous. So unfun and awful in every way.

2. Music Park
Boring.

3. Bone Dry Ruins

My favorite tracks (in no certain order)

GCN Sherbet Land (I hated this course in MKDD, they made it so much better)
N64 Toad's Turnpike
Electrodome

My least favorite tracks (in no certain order)

Tick-Tock Clock
GCN Dry Dry Desert (the opposite of my opinion on Sherbet Land.)
Wii Grumble Volcano

I also love the idea of Amiibos! I'm going to get Link, Mario, and maybe Samus and Luigi when they're released, but I would make me giddy if we could use Link for Mario Kart 8, because you know what that would mean! (I'd have a new main.)

Well, that's my time trial submitted, got a feeling everyone will be close time-wise.

I decided to have an overall ranking system for these TT Challenges. With the top 5 getting points for the rankings.

Point System:
1st - 10 Points
2nd - 8 Points
3rd - 6 Points
4th - 4 Points
5th - 2 Points

Sounds simple but here is an added treat.
Character Bonus
Unless if I stated there is no Character Bonus for a challenge. If you get in the top 5 you'll get extra points for being a certain character. This is done to reward players for not using Top Speed Characters

Characters and their bonus:

Bowser, Wario, Morton - 0 Bonus Points
Roy, Metal Mario, Pink Gold Peach, Waluigi, DK, Rosalina - 1 Bonus Point
Mario, Luigi, Ludwig, Iggy - 2 Bonus Points
Yoshi, Peach, Daisy - 3 Bonus Points
Toad, Koopa, Shy Guy, Lakitu, Toadette, Wendy, Larry - 4 Bonus Points
Lemmy, Baby Mario, Baby Peach, Baby Luigi, Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina - 5 Bonus Points

I'm having a mid-Kart crisis, finding it hard to keep up with 6000+ VR drivers with Daisy. :(

Any tips?

Whoa, what?
I was in a room earlier with guys who were all: 6344,7665,3433,7890, 8120, 7544,5684, 6222, 5056, 7110, 4987.

It was utter insanity. It was so hard to get going against them, I managed to maintain my 3720(improved to a 3731!) but crikey, it was just plain madness.

Wow, I'm only at 1.4k. I win most races though.

It's tough to recover from strikes when you sacrifice acceleration in order to keep up with the heavies on top speed. When you're in a lobby at that level, skill will help you finish in the top six, but the rest is luck. I'll win one race while barely being bothered, and then spend the entirety of another race in 10th.

In one room, that 10th place finish was a +0 result for me (can't recall my exact number but I'm close to Classic), so sticking it out is good for VR.

You can tell we are close together VR wise @Wolfe, our races are always very close and exciting.
