If you gift a matte painted car, do you not get a chip then?
 
When you gift any car to someone it is just like getting a new car, and a new paint chip. You can get multiple paint chips by sending the car back and forth (which is what I'm about to do to get multiple matte blacks) and then gift the matte black back to myself again

Same thing for the matte HEP G37. You don't get a chip for buying a matte car. You only get them as prizes, so they will always be rare.

ya but the Toyota F86 something was obtained in a prize and it still did'nt give any chip pain so maybe its a glitch or something.
 
Hey guys, you CAN preview paint colours on car and wheels.

All you have to do is paint the car, and if you dont care for the look, just press the PS button and quit game without confirming, that way it bypasses the autosave!

So far I've got Matte Light Green and Matte Yellow. Haven't used the Yellow yet, used the Green on my S13 drifter wheels.

Edit: might have Matte white too...
 
Damn! Want a matte black chip so much! How to win these?
 
Got a matte red and matte dark blue paint... maybe ill trade them for some nice LMP car :P

So, if i gift my Matte Grey BMW to my friend, he will get the chip and when he gifts it back, i will get another Matte paint chip?
 
Well when I recently traded a car, I didn't receive a paint chip, but hopefully this is a potential loophole that can be exploited!

Here's my matted light green lamborghini....yea i know, some of you might say i just ruin the car, but i think it looks awesome :)........wanna get a pink matte to paint another SV....

And no, i don't hate SV's...they're my fav premiums in GT5 !

You beat me to my idea. I wanted a Verde Ithaca (electric green lambo color) LP670. I was buying a LP640 just for the paint chip...then I wondered if there was a matte version and lo' and behold you beat me to it.

Ruined? Seriously? That is what a Lambo should be.
There ONE person in the US with a Verde Ithaca LP670, ONE. He is a man who knows what he is doing.

I'm not exactly sure if it works on PAINTED cars, but on my LF-A which it came stock I have got it 3 times now.

Yes I did it last night. I have not tried it on a car I've painted, but on a car that comes from the dealer with Matte Black paint I have received it a couple times now.
