New to the game (GT3 A Spec) and bought a Mazda MX-5 (J) as a starting car. Am running the beginnue and in the Spiders & Roadsters comp can walk all over the other cars with current tuning but not Test Track??

I have

racing chip
turbo stage 2
port polish
racing tyres
lightweight stage 2
full suspension (most expensive), set up with high springs 75% F/R etc
Muffler/sports

and can't get above 227 km/h (140 ish mph) have I reached max with this car??
 
you will need the full racing transmission. Set the gears so that you are just past
the red-line at the end of the straight in top gear. Did you lower the car all the way down?
Do everything to boost HP. I used this car to complete the beginner series, so I know it is
up to the job. (All the races it is elligable for.)
 
You should have all the hp necessary, and as supert10 said, you need a new transmission. But first a question....when you're in the highest gear, does the car rev up to the redline and bounce back after about 500 rpm into the red? If so, it means you're hitting the rev limiter and need to lengthen your gearing (which requires the racing tranny). If you're not hitting the rev limiter, you're gonna need more hp :( (though you shouldn't)
