The FIA abolished the C2 class in 1992. The only remaining class, C1, required F1-style engines. That turned out to be disastrous to the series, as the series died the following year.

Voted. I remember Speedhunters had an article about this car and how Group C collapsed around it, but I can't seem to find the link anymore... Anyway, the MXR-01 was built off of the Jaguar XJR-14 Chassis design (Basically a Mass-Produced XJR-14) and powered by a "Customer-Spec" Judd V10.

You can clearly see how good the Mazda MXR-01 was doing against Peugeot and Toyota as long as the track was wet (taking the lead at 43:25).
