:dopey:
That's the week after new years. :banghead:

You see after Xmas everyone tries to lose wight and make new year resolutions on new years, but they usually only last a week so we chuck all the healthy stuff out after that.

Bloody Scottish.

A lot of people (especially in Europe) celebrate Christmas on the 24th because it's tradition. For me, the 24th is more important then the 25th because of my European background.

Christmas is on the 25th of December but people celebrate it on the 24th.

Merry Christmas everyone!

My family celebrates it on the 24th ever since we had to have our 11 year old Golden Retriever put to sleep on the 24th of Dec many years ago.:(

Really? that's weird...I was born and raised in Italy for 14 years and as far as I know, December 25th was and still is Christmas day, the 24th of December is part of the "Novena" that takes place from sunset of the 23rd to sunset of the 24th. Everybody pretty much prepares the presepio, or like a Bethlehem manger, with little statues resembling the Virgin Mary, Joseph, the angels, kings, sheperds and of course, Il Bambino Gesu; then we would proceed to light candles around it and little kids would come door by door singing pastoral songs.
Those are our pre-Christmas customs, after that we watch the midnight mass given by the Pope and until then, we start calling our relatives or friends wishing a merry Christmas to them. We open the gifts in the morning and we go to Church at 12 noon to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus....

And yeah, I know he wasn't born near that date....

Ciao!

We celebrate Christmas at night on Christmas Eve in the Lifters' house. I go goose hunting on Christmas morning. We still save a few presents to open when I get back mid-late afternoon.

Merry Christmas, people.

Merry Christmas to all...and to all, have a good time! :D

6.02 am on the 24th (couldn't sleep anymore) Merry Christmas eve to all. And Merry Christmas to all for tomorrow. :)

12:57 A.M. 24th here on the east coast.

Merry Christmas Eve.

For my family tradition we don't really celebrate 'till the 25th, but every year late at night on the 24th we're allowed to open one of our presents, and open the rest on the 25th, Christmas Day.

1:20ish right now, I can feel the anticipation. :nervous:

I'm also allowed to open one present on the Eve. I think most people do this, atleast in the U.S. :)

As the days are becoming increasingly busy, I want to wish everyone here at GTP a warm Merry Christmas!
