Hi guys,

there was a video of MGS done quick but I can't find it. Does anyone know the link to it? I couldn't find it.

And when is MGS:Subsistence going to be released?

What exactly is that?

Its some picture of a boss you face in MGS but the wierd thing is not him, its those faces in the picture. Do you have MGS3 because it might not make sence to you then but its got nothing to do with the main guy in all of those pictures but the faces that appear in the pictures that dont show up when your playing the game!

RedWolfRacer
I was trying to figure that out, too. I looked at it sideways and all and still really couldn't tell. All I can see is a hooded figure no matter which way I turn it. :P Still creepy though.
The face in the last picture i think is pretty hard to spot. Is that the one you cant see? because i think the others are pretty clear.

Maybe Solid lifters can shed some light....

i think the battle with the Sorrow is really a graphic showcase of MGS3, it's just stunning, I got killed many times in that battle because I was too busy enjoying the scene, lol.

Yep, of course I can. Heh.

During your travels on the "River Styx," if you take a picture of naked Raidenovich, The Pain, The Fear, The End, The Fury and The Sorrow, you'll see the faces of the Konami production team. They're all there but you gotta time it right, which is very hard to do, BTW. Some "Bosses" have more than one person, like The Sorrow, for example.

Try to find them all!

EDIT:

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

Solid Lifters, you are such a hardcore MGS fan! :O I wouldn't have never understood or figured out those creepy faces. :indiff:

At first I thought that hooded person was Darth Vadar! :O 👍

I was bored today so i did the ape escape missions and i got a monkey mask!!
Apart from making me laugh on the cut scenes, whats the function of the mask??

That's about it, plus I think you can sneek up on the Monkeys easier, and stall The Boss during your fight with her. But, when I tried both, nothing happened except THe Boss called me an idiot for wearing it during our batttle.

THat's what is so great about the MGS series. Always a sense of humor in it. I hate it when games take themselves too seriously, that is why I prefer MGS over something like Splinter Cell any time.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

Don't forget the drama, irony, and surprises that MGS series throw into the storyline! :O Splinter Cell is too....like plain in my opinion.

*wipes cobwebs off thread*

I was getting a bit bored during the holidays so i played and completed MGS3 again :) . I was just wondering what the ratings meant like my rating was 'panther'....Is that good? and how far is that from the best? and what other ratings can you get?

I'm sorry...some of those ranks are insane.

I'm gonna go cry now. lol I need to get MGS3 back so I can attempt said "insane" ranks.
Back? What do you mean, "Back?" You mean you gave it away? Sold it? Are you nuts?

These are the ranting I've obtained. Piranha was the most fun. I went shirtless and killed everyone I came across and only with the knife. I think it was on very easy level, just to see what it was like. Of course, some bosses were killed with weapons, but I didn't spare them their lives. It took forever to walk down the "River Styx."

Piranha - Easy and Very Easy Ranking Kill over 300 Humans

Tsuchinoko - Special Ranking Clear game with living Tsuchinoko captured

Chameleon - Special Ranking No alerts, kills, continues, or Life Medicines used

Kerotan - Special Ranking Shoot all 64 Kerotan Frogs

No I don't think it does. Graphics are awesome anyway.

Yep.

It does have Dolby surround off or on, but there's no need for it, as far as I know. Any receiver built in the last ten years can put the audio in decent simulated surround sound. No DD5.1, this time, though.

If you're just about to start, remember, don't bother to find and shoot the Kerotan on Easy or Very Easy level settings. You wont get the stealth suit. Plus, those levels are so easy, it wont matter if you used the stalth suit anyway. So, save the "hunting of the green frogs" for normal or harder levels. Don't forget to trap a Tscuhinoco(sp?) "turd snake" at certain levels.

The best tactic to use for each area you enter is shoot everybody with a tranq dart, then wake them up one at a time to interrorgate them for info. You wake tham up by either kicking them, or hitting them with an object. The torch works best. You'll learn a lot of good info, but most of it, and some secret pointers, can be found on the net already. It depends on how you want to play the game. Of course, it's a lot more fun if your earn the info your firts time through. Then, your second time through, you needn't bother.

I'm not sure how much of this thread you've read, but there are tons of helpful hints and secrets revealed.

you know i wonder, who can actually play the same game that many times over to get all the alternate endings and ending rankings and what not. after i play a game through once im sick of it.

Now, that would be nuts. People call me crazy for playing through it 8 or 9 times. But, I see no purpose to get all the ratings since it does nothing for your game.

The best MGS I've played respect to graphics and gameplay, but on storyline, man, none will beat the MGS for the PS.

On MGS3 I was already guessing that Tatyana was Eva, and Ocelot and the Boss were kinda like in a strange behaviour with Volgin.

On MGS...hell, it never came to my mind that master miller was Liquid! the foxdie stuff, the villains...geeze..just plain awesome

What I hate about this MGS3 are the damn Kerotan frogs, I mean come on, this was such a lame idea, and the worse is that on my 2nd time through the game, I am 100%sure I found them all and shoot at them, and at the end I still couldnt get the damn stealth...geeze now to play another game and find them all again...God I feel like a pokemon trainer or something :(

You share the same opinion as most MGS series fans. MGS for the PSOne was the best. This game hit you like a ton of bricks. Made you think about what you were doing, about the choices you made in the game.

Plus, the surprises really worked. I knew once Snake met up with Eva, she was not his contact. She never gave the code word answer to 'Who are the Patriots?' But, I think MGS3's story was made a lot more simple due to the flack the story line in MGS2 got. It was also a lot more simple to follow along, since MGS2 was seen as too confusing to most players.

But, I disagree with your Kerotan bashing. I can see why it was included. It's a mini-game feature that can easily be ignored if you want to. Plus, if offers nothing exclusive, so I don't understand why you hate it so much when it can be simply ignored. I think the inclusion of a mini-game feature was great. I hope there's one in MGS4.

The Kerotan frogs gives you the stealth device, that's if you find them all....the other way to get the stealth device is like not killing anyone and finishing the game in less than 5 hours or something...it's just sick. I would be kinda happy if at the end they told me like which kerotan's are missing, but since they didn't say nothing to me, I gotta get em all again just to be 100% that I find them, geeze.

Well, don't need to find them ALL over again. Just the one's you missed. You can play it over, and if you find the one's you missed, you'll get the Stealth Suit without having to shoot the rest. but it's still fun to do so.

The one frog most often missed is the one in the hallway bridge that leads you to Sokolov. The area where you must salute those two guards. First come into the hallway, look left. Look at the top of the siren outside, and shoot through the window.

The other difficult frogs are on the bike ride. There are about ten of them, that are very hard to get. Mostly because you can't hear if you get them thanks to the noise of the bike.

I probably missed one of those, I think the hardest one is when you start out on the airport tracks. It's on top of some sign to the left but due to the movement of the bike it's very difficult to get a clear shot.

The sniper rifle gets it don't easily enough, though. Plus, there's another one and the end that's even harder to get.

Remember, you can save your progress during the bike ride, and if you miss the next frog, just shut her down and start over. You'll start were you left off in the bike ride.

It might take a hour or two, but you can do it. The Volgin battle has several, too. The one on the building, and the one on the bridge you destroy. The rest of the bike ride has several after these, including one in front of a rock and one on top.

Guys I need help. The camera is quite a bit different to MGS2 which I played on my comp so I die quite often. But therefore I saved my progress with 160.xx or so.

Well the only problem is it's worthless? When I had to pass a mine field which I did successfully and died because I haven't seen the guard with his big gun I had to start from the beginning (mine field).

How can I avoid this? I don't have the chance to load my savegame. Is there any frequenz I could use to load my latest savegame?

To load your save game you need to exit back to the main menu, you do this by pressing all 4 back buttons and the strat and select buttons together (I think), to have a look around, be sur to use the first person view, you can see everything from Snakes eyes when you press the first person view button, and while you have it pressed you can use the back buttons to peek left, right or both together to pop you head up or tip toe if your prone/crouched or standing respectively.

When you save, you start from the beginning of that part of the area you saved in. So if you passed the minefield and then saved it while still in the same area, when you load that save game you will be back at the start anyway so its a waste of time to reload your save game, just go to 'continue'. Hope this makes sense to you, its kinda hard to explain in words...

Just curious, where is this minefield anyway? Im currently playing Snake Eater again.
