And, is it bad that Ive killed ALOT of guys? I mean, i sneak often, and use my tranquilizer gun, but sometimes, you just cant help holding a guy up, and shooting him in the head with your operator. haha.

I killed 67 in the first act. And I made good use of my silenced sniper rifle in the 2nd one. It's too much fun.

I saw that Bad Company video... at least they tried. Maybe they should concentrate on making a better game instead of making funny videos.

Yeah, I agree with Fro on that one. Larry The Cable Guy humor and war games don't mix anyway.

In EA's defense it IS EA... I mean, they have to convince themselves the garbage they make is good garbage. All I know if I was anyone involved in making MGS4 I'd seriously be insulted EA was even trying to compare themselves MGS4.

Anyone buy the Tanegashima, the old musket that costs 1,000,000 DP? I haven't, but it is to my understanding that it
can potentially start mini-tornadoes that litter items all over the place.

No, that's not it. What it does is lift enemy soldiers and spin them around and every item they have falls to the ground for you to pick up.

No need for spoilers, BTW. It's common knowledge by now.

I killled 222 enemies in the first act. Mainly to collect credits for weapons upgrades. I really think I will need to play this game again in a more stealth mode. :indiff:

I know I'm being a hypocrite about wanting a steath shooter game, but I just can't go about these missions without killing people. Well for the money too... xD

On that note, this game does fill in what Splinter Cell was suppose to be just nicely for me.

I've really been enjoying this game except for getting caught up in a battle and then dying... :grumpy:

I know, but I just wanted to play it safe... :P

I'm currently on my second play through... trying to play it a little more stealthy, opposed to the run-and-gun style I adopted on my first time through. I just beat the first act and was able to get through it with only one (accidental) kill. I'm still getting too many alerts though... probably because I'm trying to collect as many weapons as possible. Heh

More 'eggs' I found in the game...

Crop circle on the "Trail Naomi" stage.

On the same level, when you walk across a bridge, look to the right to see a soldier pissing in the stream...

Got my Bandana and Stealth :D 0 Alerts, 0 Kills, 0 Deaths. I did use a few recover items, and I need to speed it up, took me 8 hours. I need to shave 3 hours off and use zero recovery items, AND beat the game on The Boss Extreme. GAH!

I finished this at about 4:40am this morning 👍 Great game and very addictive! ... but all those FMV's and cut scenes can drive you mad

Ended with Eagle Ranking due to all the headshot kills :sly: it was fun but not sure if I will play it through again as I was falling asleep during all the vids etc ... gonna try the online mode tonight

Thats some going mate! how the hell did you get past the opening of act 5 without detection? Nice work 👍

Ha, so did I, and i managed to find the crop circle on accident as well.

Just got to act 4.
The PS3's PSX compatibility seems to be just fine...

Otacon needs to lay off my lady!

I got Eagle too. I'm going through the game a second time now, trying to get as few kills as possible. I'm on Act 2 and I've only killed one person on accident using CQC so far. I'm just skipping the cut-scenes this time around.

Like yaywalter said you can skip the cut scenes, I'm watching them all now and I'll probably watch them all next time round to pick off any plot points I've missed first time round (yes I still haven't completed it yet, I am just starting Act 5 though, so I'm thinking a good run tonight and I'll be through).

Nice job, guys! You can now use the "Passwords" found in the "Extras" section of the "Main Menu."

Here are four passwords I know about...

george
abraham
theodore
thomas

Take a wild guess what they mean. If you paid attention to the cutscenes, you should know it easily. :D

Speaking of that, what does JD stand for? Jefferson Davis?

I just finished Act 2 yesterday night or actually today at night. :grumpy:

Nevermind... JD is John Doe.

Has anybody here figured out how to get to the top level of...

Outer Haven? I couldn't find the way. Where do I need to go? I have a feeling I can find the .50 cal that Akiba uses up there.

I've done it, and my what a long ending. Awesome game, awesome experience, starting it again tomorrow :dopey:.

EDIT: Here are mty stats, my play times is exaggerated btw, I left the game running during a couple of Euro 2008 matches.

Is there a way of seeing how many alerts and kills you've done? I'm trying to go through the game without any now, and I have no idea if an alert that doesn't appear on screen at the very beinnging when a Gekko sees you counts or not...

The only time an alert counts is when it shows up in the top center of the screen. The 'dream' in Act 4 also does not count for alerts.

You can kill the trucks (the big ones with the turret on top during Act 1) Helicopters, Gekko, the birds that fly with Raven, and the Drawf Gekko without being penalized with a 'kill'.

Also, if you are on Act 2 just remember you don't have to kill anything to progress through the chase scene.

When you finished Act 1, how many alerts did it say you got?
You can only see how many alerts you got for a specific act upon completing that act, or beat the game to see the total. No other ways to see how many alerts you've gotten, unfortunately.

GT5P or MGS4.. Hmm.

Can't decide!! :(

As awesome as Prologue is, get MGS4. It's simply the best PS3 game there is. You can wait for the full GT5. ;)

Awesome, lemme know when you find more working passwords. lol

Here are five screen shots I took from one of the cut scenes "Contains Spoilers":

Note: I have increased the brightness via Photoshop., but still I am hoping to tweak the brightness level in-game a bit better. So it suits my capture card more.

I've been avoiding this thread like the plague for the last week (mainly because I know I will be far to tempted to look at spoilers.

Just completed Act 4 (which is amazing), so I do know only one to go and I have to say that this is simply one of the finest games I have ever played. For sheer story its up with FFVII and MGS, both of which I loved.

Back when I have finished it - which should be in the next day or two, work and family permitting.

Regards

Scaff
