The MG Metro 64 is a supermini economy car that was produced by the Austin Rover Group division of British Leyland and its successors. It was launched in 1980 as the Austin miniMetro. It was intended to complement the Mini, and was developed under the codename LC8.

During its 18-year lifespan, the Metro wore many names: Austin Metro, MG Metro and Rover Metro. It was re-badged as the Rover 100 series in January 1995. There were also van versions known as the Morris Metro and later, Metrovan.

At the time of its launch, the Metro was sold under the Austin brand. From 1982, MG versions became available. During 1987, the car lost the Austin name, and was sold simply as the Metro. From 1990 until its withdrawal in 1997, the Metro was sold only as a Rover.

200 were built of which 180 were "Clubman Spec" cars with 250bhp - these were £40,000. Only 20 cars were built with 410bhp - these were termed "International Spec"

The engine was designed by David Wood and based on the Ford Cosworth DFV Formula One unit. When Group B cars were banned the spare engines were used up on the Jaguar XJ220 project (with turbo chargers added and power raised to 542bhp).

YES!! This would go great along the tracks of Swiss Alps and Thaiti, if we still had them...

It is the same car! - Russell Bulgin wrote an article for cars and Car Conversions magazine in 1986 and Ayrton Senna was hired to pose with a variety of rally cars and drive for a day for photos for the magazine.

Once again this is the car tested by Senna, see photo of Senna in the car.
Anyway this is not only about the car, it's about Senna.
And the livery of this car is completely different from the other thread (1984).
Sorry, but it's not the same car.

You are right of course Starlight - it is literally a different car. The Metro 6R4 is an iconic car and deserves to be in the game in its own right together with premium versions of the other group B cars - but the version that most merits inclusion is a Full Works International Spec car such as the one raced by Tony Pond.

I would rather any Ayrton Senna vehicle content was reserved for cars or karts that he actually raced.

Ok fair enough, no hard feelings ... Ayrton had the most fun with this car so my choice and not for the Sierra or other rally car.
Have a nice evening.
