Some guy posted a big random post in Arabic or some weird language with lots of symbols..., and I'd like to yell at them :p

That was a long time ago and dunc has already took care of that making guests not post, Don't know how newminer managed to do it but you won't get in since I applied and didnt happen.

EDITORS NOTE: A better way of saying the last sentence would be "However, I doubt you would be accepted as a moderator. I previously applied but Dunc hasn't approved yet, and I don't think he will."

Also, I must say that just because you were not selected as a moderator, has no affect (or shouldn't have any affect) on the possibility of my advance in status on the forums. I know it was along time ago (2 months...woooow 💡), but just in case it does happen again, I thought I may be able to help. I lurk the forums as a guest frequently, and only log in to post...don't know why though...
 
I've installed a mod that limits the amount of mobs that are able to spawn. This should reduce lag slightly.
 
Uhhh...ok. By how much did you reduce it? It may cause problems for some of my builds and especially my mob trap...(and possibly other people's stuff)

Maximum of 64 per world. Mob traps will still work, just less frequently.

Then this will change once 1.9/2.0/1.0 official release so we can get experience orbs for enchanting or maybe change on how much we can obtain?
 
I don't get what you mean. It will stay the same. It's exactly as it was before except less mobs.

Less Mobs = less exp orbs =/= less exp orbs = less leveling.

I see what you mean. I don't think you will see a mass reduction in mobs. It's more for the ones that spawn in a cave miles away where no one will visit and just sit there lagging the server.


*edit* I have the core2duo machine! I'll try and build it with Ubuntu tonight. My mother in law and neice are staying with us though so I don't know when I'll be doing the switchover.

I wonder why you were sent to jail. So this would leave up to Ryou or TJ who jailed you for some odd reason(WallRunner is never on). One of them has some explaining to do!

I'm trying to connect but it says the server is unknown.

EDIT - managed to connect, but the lag just crashed my computer altogether now :boggled:

I think it's time to finally realize just how much work has gone into this server. It's a one in a million. I look back from when I started, when rapture was a lava walk, a few houses on a hill, and a boat, and to see how it changes is just...phenomenal. I love everything about it. The character, the complex simplicity (if that makes any sense at all). It's so vivid, so involved, yet it's all made up of blocks.

I think I speak for us all when I say that if it weren't for Dunc and Vic, this might not have happened at all. Dunc, starting and maintaining the server, Vic putting up with a loud server in the kitchen (stock AMD heatsinks + bread and ham = awesome sandwich) and helping with builds, ranks, and helping members with difficulties, and to all the Admins, Moderators, our Sherrif, and Deputy, keeping the :censored:s at bay, it's all been very fun, very creative. Thank-you. 👍

EDIT: Good boy for not upgrading to Vista (don't upgrade to 8 when it comes out either, wait till 7 prices go down ;))
 
Well actually this is my dad's laptop, not my home one :p

It has a Nvidia GeForce 8600m GT, Core 2 Duo @2.5 GHz. 4GB of RAM.
