Ooo, that's careful work there. One wrong slip with a flint and steel, and it's all down the drain...or up in smoke, whatever floats your boat.
one wrong slip and you'll be falling to your death there

Alright, one more question. I'm looking to install a mod on our server, is there a special trick to it? Also I can I use the Single Player Command mod on a server? The internet sucks for finding out any information regarding Minecraft servers.

It's a joke spongey, lighten up.

Ok. Is this your personal server? Or DQCraft? If it's your personal server, you don't install mods, you install plugins through Bukkit. I'm not an expert on this, I'm mid-ranged experienced in the install, coding, and commands etc, but if it's more than that, ask Dunc. He'll give you the rundown.

If it's DQCraft, you just jump on and play. We've got the server configured with special plugins. Most singleplayer mods won't work on multiplayer. However, plugins such as TooManyItems work (if you're an Admin) and OptiFine work, since they're not actually implementing useable items within the game. If you find a singleplayer mod and you're not sure, just post it here and we'll tell you Ye or Ne if it works on multiplayer.

SinglePlayerCommands is not like that. It's a mod for Single player, that puts Multiplayer commands into single player. It's the same as if you jumped on a Vanilla server, only in singleplayer. So you don't have anything to do with Multiplayer with it. Got it? Bit confusing I know.

Personal server. Basically all I'm looking to do is allow underwater breathing and I can't seem to find any other mod than single player commands that will do it.

I want to make a film of some sort on MC, and need to know how to run a temporary server.. I have the MC Server thing, it is just a white page with text on it, how can I get the IP?

Is your server running bukkit? There are loads of plugins that do this.

Just the one from the Minecraft Server application. Is it possible to convert it to a Bukkit one? I've read conflicting reports, some say yes while other say I'll lose the Nether.

You can either run the server with hamachi or by port forwarding. There's a good guide for setting up a server here.

If you are running the server and playing on the same PC then it is the PC's local address, ie. 192.168.0.xx

If you check the properties of your wired connection it should tell you the address :)

The world will copy fine, I have had trouble with the nether but it sometimes works. Make a backup of your worlds before you start. Other than that, yes it is very easy to convert to bukkit. You'll have to be running bukkit to install any kind of mods.

Now to ask, how do I check it?

(Sorry, I'm not very clever at anything)

Open up command prompt, type "ipconfig" (without quotation marks) and hit enter.
Then use the ip that goes 192.168.0.xx on minecraft, in my case that would be 192.168.0.3

As far as I know to join your own server, you just join Home. Home is 10.0.0.1. That's your IP for connecting to your IP :p Bit weird, but it's a permanent backup if you forget your actual IP (especially if your ISP or router reset it).
