Dquan the next time your online, have a look at the giant wheel next to the racecourse.

If you guys are actually serious about building, the Earth is 24,901.55 miles (40,075.16 kilometers) around the equator. 40,075.16km = 40,075,160 blocks just for the equator. This should be interesting if it is actually done.

Assuming you can lay two blocks a second, that would take 5566 hours or 231 days of non stop block laying. As you couldn't do it 24 hours a day, lets assume you did 8 hours a day of non stop block laying. It would take you 696 days or nearly 2 years to make just the equator.

Have fun!

LOL, with one person it would take FOREVER:nervous:. We would need an army of people.

Maybe one day I will try to make a scaled down version maybe a 1:8,000. Which will be 5,009 blocks for the equator which would take an hour for one person.

I need to get together with a few friends for a weekend, sounds like an interesting project and would be incredible to see actually happen. I wonder if anyone has attempted this before.

That's provided you don't make any mistakes.

I noted a few blue squares when I visited the Torinet Minecraft page. Found out the blue squares are administrator claims. Now... are these Minecraft worlds basically worlds you create while most others are allowed to build their own material on? Of course, I'm sure griefing is strongly discouraged. That's the one thing I'd fear if I let certain people play within my own worlds if I did make one.

Besides this chatter, I have practiced making more different structures and such. I actually entertained the idea of making certain dungeons and temples. So I began thinking about designing structures with the intent of adding in certain schematics of dungeons. For example, a sewer system that has spiders and zombies as you're trying to return to the surface. As much as I want my Creative skills to feature any number of fabulous villages and structures, the old school RPG'er in me still wants to have those dangerous areas that aren't so friendly to come across. Minecraft Pocket Edition only allows you so much space. I haven't designed anything extravagant because of this. Even part of my practicing of making more structures relates to thinking about entire villages and towns. I've thought of things like a port town and some sort of holy city (think something like Vacitan City). I would want to think of something more modern, but I seem more about old-style RPG cities for now. I am surely impressed with all who make those extravagant structures in Minecraft.

Radius 27!!! :D

I had to laugh when I saw the sign on... the... err... artistic structure!
The sign? Only that single one?

There are or were thousands of them!

EDIT: Oh you're that mcblock dude... I remember...

Yup, this is the main issue with multiplayer minecraft. There are a lot of people who just want to cause havoc.

Luckily there are lots of plugins to combat this.

As you can see, players can claim their land and this prohibits other players from modifying their claims.

Also, every player interaction is logged. Every block place, block destroyed, chest interaction, lava place, etc goes in to a database. I can then use this to roll back any change. If a player somehow manages to destroy your creation and then place lava over it (this can only happen if you hadn't claimed the area), I can have it good as new in a matter of seconds.

Of course anyone caught greifing will be banned from the server.

*edit*
It looks like the server is starting to max out on memory. If I get 3 or 4 more sponsors, I'll stick 8GB in it. :)

For the first time last night, I actually tested out making Minecraft schematics after using a program called Qubicle Constructor and importing my schematics into MCEdit. It gave me a good deal of confidence in designing structures in Minecraft. I began thinking about what kind of structures I could try to create. What I want to do is think of creating all sorts of structures and implementing them. More importantly, think of structures that have basements or have some things that go underground- like wells. Something I may do is design deep wells so that I won't have to go through the trouble of making them manually. The problem with these schematics from my experience is that you will still need to add certain things manually- like doors, glass panes, stairs, fence, etc. It still gives you a great start and a great base you can work on. I will be sure to make these schematics to make as a workaround for trying to get certain structures into my Minecraft Pocket Edition world without having to make them for a while in MCPE.

As for my Minecraft PC issues, I am somewhere between getting a new computer and buying an AGP graphics card. I haven't worked on my PC to try to play PC Minecraft. Getting a new AGP card will be my last sort of resort in trying to play PC Minecraft. Eventually, getting a new PC is a long-term goal for me. What I may just do is just import and export my MCPE world and edit parts of that world through MCEdit.

From that list this is the best GPU you can get for an aging upgrade option without spending more. You can only get a better GPU if you were to buy a used high-end GPU(Which means an added risk vs being covered under warranty) plus buying a new power supply to support the power hungry graphics card. With this GPU you do not need to upgrade the power supply. Minecraft will be playable mostly around medium graphics.

If his mainboard supports it. The card has some compatibility issues.

I just wanted to clarify something from a previous post. I mentioned importing and exporting my Minecraft Pocket Edition world. What that means is that I simply take my MCPE world from my mobile device and upload it to the computer. Then, I open it in MCEdit and just fool around with MCEdit. I could then save my work and upload my updated material to my mobile device. That's what I meant. What I am basically using MCEdit for is to see how my schematics would look if I were to upload them into my Minecraft worlds. What I really need to do is make a proper superflat environment to properly see my completed schematics.

As for the AGP card issues, I am going to mostly look for some older models. I once found some AGP cards on Amazon fitting the 250-watt PSU requirements. Whatever card I find will NOT be anything new. I do think ATI is a solid brand. I am not stressing getting a new card, though. I am just looking at my options. It will eventually come down to me getting a new computer in the future. For now, I am still enjoying the experience of MCPE, and I am surely awaiting more features to be added for MCPE.

Well if you are looking for a good AGP card then you should look at this but you would need a power supply upgrade to at least 400watts(Which would cost around $45 for a good unit such as this one). It's more powerful than the AGP cards they sell for new these days. It'll run minecraft just fine.

Oh ok, I didn't read the part in your other post where you said you were using a program to do so. :dunce:

So I now own Minecraft on every platform. I bought it on my Mac last night because the iPhone version just isn't enough and I only have access to my xBox every other week. I might be buying it for a friend too because he uses a cracked version and can't get online.

Finished restoring an Abandoned Mineshaft with 2 friends last night. There were actually 2 of them intersecting (we could tell because there were 2 different dirt entrance rooms), so it took a lot of time as a result. All we basically did was clean it up. Closing up intersecting caves, fixing broken bridges, get rid of random lava/water, etc. Now all the tunnels are a perfect 3x3, bridges are fixed, and really it's fun to get lost in it. It's really big. I'll upload it if you guys want to see it. 👍

Oh damn the new launcher looks strange...

EDIT: It's actually about the same, just with a new design. The window at the beginning was strange.

Yeah I also noticed that today when I started it. I didn't mind how it was as it logged online activity when you were in a game, and then view/review after you exited.

Oh that's not the problem, it always said they'll do this later and that you can manually close the launcher. Closing the launcher didn't affect the game. Additionally, I can still get the realtime log with the new launcher if I want to.

However, I'm using Magic Launcher now.

Just a pic of the new ferris wheel, which is still under construction:

Default MC look, no shaders or similar, nothing too fancy. It's about 70 blocks high.
Sadly we have no coloured lamps in MC.
