Hi, Just a quick question. I friend wants to join me on the PS4 but he hasn't got a PS4 and I'm not fussed on paying £40 for a second controller. I saw the PS4 version is compatible with mouse and keyboard. Could we splitscreen it with one on the mouse and keyboard and one on pad?

Silly question I know but any help is appreciated.

Not sure how many of us on here have it yet for the PS4.. But I'm going to take a guess that if you can do split screen then there shouldn't be a problem. Most likely the second player would have to use the controller.

@crunchMONKY78, you can handle the cows, I've transported one to my house from 5000 blocks away :p

As for portals, overworld coords = (nether coords • 8) Simple. ;)

I know this is supposed to be the case, but pretty sure I've used my main nether portal before, done whatever I had to do there, stepped back into the portal and come out at another nether portal I made longer ago, a little away from my current home (at my original home which I pretty much abandoned). I never understood that logic, surely the same portals should link up on both sides?

Mojang confirmed the Microsoft buying mojang/minecraft for 2.5B. Don't know how missing and future development is going to go but to done it can't be good.

I think there are going to be pros and cons. Having a huge software house behind it should mean that updates are more thorough.

What it means for the open source modding community I'm not sure.

That was a massive deal. Notch has already announced that he is leaving the company, although he says it's because he doesn't feel suited to being there anymore. His statement was quite heart felt, but the dude is probably set for life with the pretty penny he earned, I bet he could wallpaper his entire house with $100 bills with his own Scrooge McDuck coin vault replica.

We'll have to downgrade to Windows Vista to play it.

Hopefully the updates are more frequent, and with usable content.
Otherwise won't be much difference in who owns the game really.

I am a mod player, and this has me worried, especially since MS just dropped a good chunk of change, I highly doubt they bought it just to keep the status quo. And I have a bad feeling that the first ones to feel the impact of this decision will be the modding community. My hope, all though not expectation, is that MS will leave everything as is on older versions, and use what they bought to build Minecraft 2.0 and start whatever changes they wish to make from there. But, considering the fact that 1.8 is out and 1.64 is still the most popular to mod version, I don't see them considering leaving the older versions just out there doing their own thing. Blah, good for Notch, guy made out like a bandit and can program at his leisure. Just not happy with the what may be in store for us.
BTW, how does other MS games work their servers? Are they all run in house or do they allow people to set up severs not unlike a Minecraft one now?

I am surprised that nobody has put-two-and-two together yet. Microsoft bought Minecraft, to help sell Xbox Ones.

This purchase probably means dropping support and updates of the ps3 and ps4 versions in the very near future.

I was not questioning the motives for selling, I was stating a possible reason for purchase.
Yeah, I can definitely see a Minecraft edition xbone. I wonder how long we will have to wait before ms releases something about their intentions.

I can see Microsoft shutting down private servers and enforcing people to use Realms for multiplayer. More control, plus monthly revenue.

I also think the modder community is going to take a huge hit, as I can also see MS making all that stuff DLC for the same reason. I am still hopeful that they will just move on to Minecraft 2.0 and leave everything else the way it is.

Thanks for the answer, Doesn't matter now though as Ive bought another DS4.

Does anyone having any nice materials to use as a building exterior? The rather nice setup we have at the moment uses wooden planks. We flirted with bricks but it was a bit meh. Stone is also too dark. And I really do not fancy collecting that large an amount of quartz

Is marble a vanilla item? Or maybe some sandstone.
BTW. I did find something interesting on Microsoft's website.
Seems they may not change much. Some things make me think public servers may go, but they also mention the fact that they like the community and that they want to keep and nurture the loyal players. So maybe all is not lost.

So does anyone know this "macnoah" ?

This person is becoming a nuisance on the server.

@DQuaN I believe that's his cobblestone mess at spawn point.
