I'm receiving absolutely no connection. Well, not true. It loads up four chunks around me then goes off on a hike.

Also. My plug-ins keep failing when I run my server. They're all having the same problem, any clue why? Like did you have a problem like this?

No never had a problem with plugins.

Next thing to try is the last version of bukkit. If that doesn't help then a vanilla server.

Actually if this doesn't work then I'm going to generate a new world just to test.

Lol, this isn't going well. At least we're narrowing down the problem.

Now I'm going to create a vanilla server. If that has the same problem then the only thing it could be is my internet connection (which is likely as I don't get any of the connection problems you guys do).

WHY CANT MINECRAFT HOSTING BE MORE SIMPLE!

And on the Vanilla server I'm still getting the same issues.

Ok, i've set the default minecraft port of 25565. Try now.

It would be stupid to ask, but have you power cycled your modem/router and tried things like that?
 
Yeah. But now I'm going to shut it off for a good 5-10 mins.

I'll let you know when it's back on.

Only problem is, my PC, TV and Virgin media use the same power strip so I'm going to have to stare at the wall for 10 mins. :grumpy:

I'd hate to make it look like I am leeching of Dunc, but would anyone like to try my server out in the meantime?

Okay. I thought that would happen. Since I can't get any of the plug-ins working, i've been running it through Hamachi (Hence the weird IP) to act as sort of a log-in server. (Prevents random trolls) And it allows my friends without the full version of Minecraft to play.

If you want to spend a couple of minutes getting the software, feel free too and let me know when you're done. If not, we'll just wait till Dunc gets back. :)

Chunks... Are... Loading... Slowly. But it's an improvement!

Possibly too many people trying to load the chunks at the same time could crash your internet? I know that's what happens to my friend when he tries hosting.

AND WOW <--- FAIL BY ME. I didn't have hamachi running >_> So nobody besides me could connect.

If anyone would like to try again, go ahead.
 
Could I ask you guys to try reinstalling your Minecraft client? Just to rule that out as a possible cause.

You could even try MyCraft which will enable you to fly!

How developed is your server, 'Round the bend? Does it have near the amount of colonization as Dunc's server? And is it still best for just those around Australia to use it?
 
We've had several restarts and I think if we hadn't restarted from the first save then yes, it would be close to the size of Dunc's server. But, it's nowhere near as advanced. I am struggling to add in Ranks and Permissions (Don't seem to be working at the moment)

Our aim was to create a server with no OP's except for the owner, and even then, nobody is allowed to spawn items.

Yes, it works best for Australia, not sure what type of ping i'll give other people.
 
I've tried fixing my area but I just can't do it. I'm going to take it down. If anyone could help it would be appreciated

The server is still lagging a little, but it is much better than before
