Can we remove the minefield DQuaN? I need to build a shop in the centre of rapture, and that's the only available space... :indiff:

edit: I'm going to test the design offline with a map editor.

To give you guys an idea of what I was thinking.
Maybe the easiest way is to make each layer of the project this way.

Well, I suppose we do have plenty of space on the map, so if you can find a good spot then anything is possible!
 
That is one hell of a project. Have you decided what each section will be made out of?
 
I say make the brown ring glowstone, the grey ring smooth stone, white areas iron blocks, and the black areas obsidian(well fill the needed areas with dirt first, it takes time to fix a problem with obsidian).

It's quite the project being 91x91 in size but we've done large projects before!
 
Why not use black wool instead of obsidian? It doesnt look exactly the same but from afar I wouldnt see a problem.
 
I'll mostly use stone. The towers will be a mix of stone and clay. Good idea to make the white area in the middle with steel.

Maybe make the yellow ring (in the just cause picture) out of gold.
And make the black lines going to the middle out of obsidian (can way until the rest is done)

I would like to to the outer circles (brown in paint picture) with sandstone. Same for the roof of the towers.

There'll be a circle suspended in the middles with 'cables' going to the 4 big tower. Was planning on doing that with steel. Some glowstone will be attached to that.

You guys ok with that?

Good news, I have installed WorldEdit. I can now select an area and make it completely flat and comprised of whatever you wish! :) Aparently I can make giant glass spheres too. I can also destroy Obsidian easily if you make a mistake with it. There are loads of other tools which I have to look up on.
 
^^ Are mods able to use those features? Assumably not the ones such as flattening an area, but I mean more as the obsidian things. I've got 2 Neather portals that I don't wan to spend10 minutes of my life destroying, and it'd be good if Wall or nick could get em done for me :)

You know, if this is the case, I could always do it myself...with a little...upgrade. :p

Nah, it's another tool that (for now at least) I want to keep for admins. It's too easy to mess things up.

Exactly. Tell me where you want it and what you want the floor to be made of.
 
I'll just start on that hill close to the spawn. Have to do more planning before I can actually start though.

With this tool we can now easily expand Rapture. It could end up as a city!
 
Fine by me. Just need to find a group of mountains I can dig in (to give it a more natural feel, instead of carving it out of a big block of stone)

Design for the big towers. Maybe not so clear due to the 45° angle. Towers are 32 blocks high.

Well, I'm terraforming the lake by my house, and constructing an artificial island which would be ideal for the expansion of rapture...

Hey guys, I've finally got my minecraft account re-activated after forgetting my password months ago. Looking forward to hopefully joining you guys on the server in a few days. 👍
 
It was empty earlier, I managed to get a fair bit done on my 'mill' area, and re-routed a few waterfalls along the 'cliffs' too. I have no idea what to do next though, the entire area around my house is a mixture of different styles and ideas that don't really go anywhere. It has no focus at all. That giant walkway out to my tower has no purpose and hasn't been used since I built it.

I did this and I had about 3 large chests full of cooked porkchops.
 
SEMI-LARGE POST WARNING! DON'T READ ON IF YOU'RE LAZY! :p

Ok. Time for me to swing into action with a few projects.

What's on the list:

GTPlanet Symbol. Somewhere near the Skybridge. I need grey and white wool (plenty of each) for this. :) It will be floating, with no connection to anything.

The continuation of the Mob Trap. This just needs to be dug out more and more till it's finished. This will be a WIP and I will work on it whenever I'm bored or have actually got the time.

New location for T's Resort and Spa. Will proberbly be somewhere way out past King and Queen palace. My last one had a bit arena put right in the perfect views, so I don't want this one to have anything in front of it. It is a 'Resort' after all :p Minecart system will connect this too, in a discreet way.

What's already done:

Food Store (T's Super-Foods & Drinks). Milk, Eggs, Pork, Cakes, Cookies (rarely), fish, bread...You name it, I sell it. I also sell packs of Pork, Fish, and Bread, which is cheaper than buying them individually. :) I don't sell soup, see Rykons Soup Kitchen for that.

Armor and Tools store (T's Tools, Weapons & Armor). I sell everything from wood to diamond tools and weapons (wooden ones are free! :D), and leather to diamond armor (chainmail not included). I sell packs for anyone who's interested (full suits of armor, wooden tool pack [free] Stone pack etc etc). I also will do arrows and bows, and Archers sets too.

My New house out in the middle of woopwoop. I have no idea where it is from spawn, but I will set a minecart system to it, which will come into town. I'm building it from the ground up, utelizing the majestic hills that surround this area <3

Basically with the stores, I'm trying to get the community into using Gold and purchasing or crafting items themselves more. This is a survival server, and just spawning a pickaxe when needed or asking for Lapis isn't surviving. I know I have done this a few times as well, but that was because I was in need of it and in a hurry to make those things, and Wall just happened to be Online at the time. Currency holds places together, as can be seen by the many popular servers online these days (TimCraft, ShadowVille etc.)

That's all for me, yell at me if you wish, but that's the way I see things. :)

just lost all my stuff because of rain-induced lag! had litttle health, jumped off the spawn building into water because the doors don't work under extreme lag. though i entered in a 2-block high water, but it was 1 block. so I died.

went to collect my stuff (nearly full inventory, iron to smelt, and a couple of diamonds, not to mention tools) and it was gone. so I go to the spot where i got told I died. not there either. 🤬 :banghead: :mad:

on another note: thanks dunc for setting up and maintaining the server! we may complain about the lag, but your efforts are genuinely appreciated. Thanks :cheers:
