This mission is actually a pretty fun challenge if you want to beat it cleanly without touching the AI, I did it after numerous tries
I tried two options:
1) outbraking him and getting in front of him before the apex, which was hard because i couldnt get far enough ahead of him to not get bumped in the rear
2) staying super close on his ass during the corner and then out-accelerating him to the finish line
I beat the mission using the second method, and it turned out beautifully, i was literally 5-10cm (2-4 inches) behind him (I dont know how I managed that with a controller, I watched the replay several time zooming in every split second and there was always SOME distance between us) the entire time we were turning and then pulled out and got on the gas harder and sooner than he did as the track straightened out and ended up beating him by .02 seconds 👍
