Yes...1:14???????? Are you flying a spaceship?
1.14.1 with full fuel on stock set-up on first try, I'm quite happy with that![]()
Thanks buddy, I will look at this tomorrow. Im planning on deep diving into the ffb settings today so i will post anything i figure out or settings so everyone can try them and see how they feel.Make sure and run the HUD with the steering FFB graph (top left) to make sure you aren't clipping the FFB.
Just tried a GT4 race against the AI at 100% difficulty - best lap times for them were in the 2:07's, I was nowhere.
100% AI doing 2:07s thats super quick, i think i can get in the 2:08s not sure bout 7s tho, but you never know untill you pushed. Its amazing how times come down when there's a good battle on.
Thought I signed up for this but looks like I hadn't @STALLIONO , if there is space/people drop out can I be added?
I've done about 2-3 hours on Silverstone, and although I've improved my time from 2:16 to 2:13, I still feel like I'm not getting half the corners right.
If someone who feels like the really know the track could post a video or give me a quick guide round the track in a practice setting, that would be much appreciated. Forgive me if I sound arrogant but I honestly believe that on any other track my times wouldn't be so far off the pace setters, but on Silverstone my times are so inconsistent (range between 2:13 and 2:17) so I don't even know where to begin on improving my racing line.

That's a little reassuring that it's not just me who's not getting sub 2:10s. And those are pretty much the same corners I'm having trouble with, it can be really frustrating when I think I've nailed a corner and the person following behind me has closed me down by half a second in just that corner. You're getting around the same times I am, I can consistently get 2:14's and when pushing I can get a 2:13 (I'll usually screw up a couple in between though). But I find the corners I'm usually losing time in are 1, 3, 4, 7 and 9. Most the others I can do fairly well but those are the ones I find crucial to a good lap as they're so damn easy to mess up.

Doesn't help that the online private lobby racing is so much fun, it's all I want to do when I've turned on my ps4 so I've haven't put any serious time into practice or tuning.
I too find Silverstone difficult to find my pace on, but it's really no different than any other track. The thing that throws you off at Silverstone is that the track is as wide as an airport runway and it lulls you into a false sense of speed by being so wide. The most important thing to remember, same as at any track but super important here, is that you must use the whole track. If you are exiting the corners, especially Abbey, Aintree, Luffield, Copse, Becketts and Stowe, and aren't running up to or over, where possible, the outside curbs, it means you could have carried more speed through there and you're losing valuable time. The lap time on this track is all tied up on the exits of those important corners. The physics are different but the principle is the same. This is one of the fastest times in the world at this track in the current GTAcademy and it shows you clearly how to run a great lap at Silverstone:That's a little reassuring that it's not just me who's not getting sub 2:10s. Thanks for the vid, I can see where I've been going wrong in a few corners, if it's possible to translate some of those brake markers into project cars with the gt4 then this should definitely help.
Down to 2.11's. Don't see much more improvement now, I'm too scared to adjust anything suspension based![]()
At first I didn't check what car I was driving, thought it was GT3 and thought something was seriously messed up with the settings since last time. Took me 2 laps to realise I was in the GT4 Aston MartinJeez that got me scared.
don't say that, it makes my 2:13 mean nothing!
For high speed tracks like Silverstone, you look at aero and LSD first for the high speed corners. If you're getting a push mid-corner or on exit, add a little front aero. If you're getting a little push on entry, lower the Decel LSD a couple of notches. Of course do the opposite if you have the opposite issues. If you get those sorted out, and the slower corners are a problem, then you'd look at suspension adjustments and LSD accel if you're having traction issues exiting the lower speed corners.Down to 2.11's. Those work as well. You have to remember, and SMS has said this many times, the default setups on cars are very "safe" for controller users benefit mainly, which usually means a little understeery and harder to turn. Usually that means rear aero is a little high, Decel LSD a little high, front tires a little over inflated etc. I've only driven a handful of cars so far but I've had to adjust all of them to get the cars to oversteer but the tuning really, really works and the descriptions provided in the tuning menus seem to accurately reflect what will happen which is a good thing.I found a brake balance towards the rear helps on Silverstone, might just be me though. To be fair I adjusted the tyre pressure to compensate a little.
I was driving that car last night. That Aston is a handful. I'll post a poll. See if you all want to change the car.I thing @STALLIONO has accidentally chosen a really good combination of track and car for qualifying. A track that's not easy to perfect and a car that's tricky to drive. A sure way of testing skill. 👍
