The thing I really didn't like about the FMG9 is the folding stock, it takes to long to unfold, and I'd rather be using a better perk than fast swaps, I don't think I tried the USP, it's been awhile since I played

Switch to it early on and the weapon change is faster later.

As for pistols, I've used the USP and P99 quite a bit, but as savage said, the Sleight of Hand Pro benefit makes it a bit of a mute point. I use them on classes where I run Scavenger sometimes, as it lets me finish someone off in those kind of drawn out situations. But they are certainly under powered compared to MW2, as you can get maybe 2 kills per clip I feel, while 3 wasn't pushing it too far in MW2.

On the USP vs the P99, I tend to find the P99 bounces a touch less when fired rapidly, so I've been using it more.

And keep in mind, I had about 3000 kills between the USP and M9 in MW2. I loved handguns in that game.
 
I pretty much only use pistols, the FN FiveSeven to be precise and always suppressed. I love the gun in reality, and if I had $1000 to blow I'd own one in a heartbeat. It's not as powerful as the D.Eagle or revolvers, but the large mag capacity and manageable recoil compared to the other guns makes it great. I just dislike machine pistols for some reason, and never used them in MW2 either. I find I'm much deadlier with a pistol and will sometimes drop 3 or 4 guys in a row if I get caught in a tough spot. I do use the Skorpion on my Sniper class because the range and fire rate is a bit more beneficial when I have to defend against someone trying to flank me.

I hate how there are so many hypocritical people online. They run around with FMGs and Steady Aim, or 95s with Rapid Fire etc and then they rage when they see their killcam with me dropshotting them. Not my fault you can't aim down.

I don't mind the people dropping down as far as them killing me is concerned. They might get me once out of 5 times. They're usually dead before they get a shot off. With that said though, I think it's just like quick scoping and jump shooting. It only works well against beginners, or people who just are not any good, but it just looks so stupid it takes away from the game. When I see a kill cam with either quick scopers, droppers, or jumpers it just sucks me right back into knowing how stupid the game really is. For a few minutes I'll think I'm playing a really good game, and then someone does something stupid like that, and I realize I'm playing COD again. The way to deal with the people who drop down is to just strafe to the side. They can't turn as quick as people standing up. That's what I do at least, and it's rarely one of them get me if I see him drop down.

I just can't wait until the new rainbow 6 comes out. No jumping at all in that game, and more then likely it will take a second to shoot after going prone.
 
Could be why you are reloading more. I can usually drop 4 or 5 people per clip on the MK14.

As for the SMG and Machine Pistols classes, I feel a lot of their power is coming from the fact the current maps are tiny mazes of insanity, more or less. I've seen many, many people that only seem to use the Striker as well, because you can route through much of maps without exposing yourself to longer fire fights - the inside of Seatown comes to mind.
Yup, just about all of the maps are catered to close quarters fighting so you can't really fault people for using close quarters weapons. The SMGs excel at close and mid range battles and on most maps that's the only kind of battles you really get. They all have high fire rates, low recoil, good damage, some have some fairly large magazines and you move faster with them. Then you add Steady Aim and Range or Kick and Rapid Fire or Extended mags and you have a weapon which can dominate in most situations on most maps. 👎

I don't know if they need to give them more recoil or greatly reduce their damage at range or what but I think they are a little too good. Especially the PP90M1 and the MP7.
 
I started using the PP90 and now i'm actually doing pretty well :) It seems long range assault rifles are not the way to go in this game.

I have noticed that almost nobody uses a pistol, I tried one of the lower level (regular) pistols, I think the PP something or P something, and I think that they aren't that bad and are quite underrated, is there another reason for this or is everything really that much better than pistols (desert eagle excluded)

Pistols ate kind of pointless in this game. The only reason to carry one is if your sniping and most snipers just quick scope anyway, so no need for a pistol. I would love some pistol only modes

I wonder why they only chose such a small number of killstreaks for the Prestige challenges.
 
Even if you're sniping there isn't much need for a pistol as you can use Sleight of Hand Pro which allows you to switch to a secondary faster and just use a machine pistol instead.

I actually don't mind the drop shooting. It makes you as small a target as possible in the least amount of time. I don't use it myself because I'm so used to knifing right away. In a firefight, hit the dirt. I spend a lot of time on my belly in BF3 so I don't see why it's a big deal in COD.

It just looks silly when someone is 15 feet from you, running at you in the wide open, with no cover in site, then all of a sudden they drop to the ground. It's not as bad as the jumpers, and quick scopers, but it still just looks really out of place.
 
So the first DLC trailer is out. You only get 2 maps and you still have to wait 30 days if you're not playing on xbox. Thanks so much for taking my money and still screwing me over same as always IW! A lot has changed but not that clearly.

I wish I could go back in time and not buy this game.

How much? 15$? Cheapos. Oh, and it's not REALLY IW. Isn't it just some guys from IW but Sledgehammer guy and Treyarch too? It's not the guys that mostly made CoD 4 and MW2 right?

DLC is just stupid. They advertise as "All new features blah blah blah blah blah" when it's really "All stuff that should of been in the game originally but was held of to be sold for more money! :indiff:
 
They only announced 2 new maps that are part of the get it when it's available Elite system, this is not to be confused with the typical $15 larger map packs from previous games. These new maps will only be available to Elite subscribers for now. The details of the first general public DLC pack have not been announced.
 
Oh well, are the maps even going to be good, or more close quarters SMG and akimbo joy?

I had one of those nights where every team I joined was terrible and every game just would not go my way. Like, team mates with a KD of 0.1 and so on. So I rage quit a few games and then just turned it off and opened a beer.

And then started bitching here..

I ran into my first major campers last night and it was probably the most fun that game. It was on Sea Town and this guy kept going to the exact same spot in this house, he didn't even try to mix it up a bit.

The amount of times I killed him was just funny and he kept coming back for more.

Piazza is the idyllic Italian getaway that is anything but, where tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates in Piazza, where attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat.


Here's hoping that Liberation is an actual GOOD sniper map where you can setup a spot with some solid cover and pick people off from a distance without being too exposed.

Should have been there from the start. Instead of Carbon. Nobody likes Carbon. :lol:

I think i've racked up 2 whole sniper kills so far during my time on MW3!

Didn't Treyarch help with the game? They feel like Treyarch maps...

The maps aren't that great. Some rooms there a building here and a car here. And the game isn't colorful like MW2, which looked good, a lot of things look Tan, Brown-ish. I miss MW2 maps :( Terminal etc.

I like carbon. I hate Dome though. Dome has to be the worst map on the game. It's really the only one that makes me want to quit when it shows up.
