So there was an update today in mw3. Tell me why does the voice volume control not work anymore? I had it set to zero so I don't have to listen to people over their mic and now that doesn't work? Looks like I'm back to individually muting people now. What else did the update do besides make voice volume not work?

* Increased speed of YouTube uploads from 32k to 256k
* Nerf to all Akimbo weapons (reduced fire rate)
* Shotgun re-balance (Slight nerf to Striker, slight buff to all other shotguns)
* Fix that prevents some users from not receiving their prestige token after prestiging
* Fix stat bug that retains "games played" stat across prestiges.

The patches are probably the one time where it pays to be a PS3 gamer since they come out later. X-Box players got that patch already and when it was first released people made videos and showed that the akimbo fire rate had actually increased and that there really wasn't a change to the shotguns. I know they did end up fixing the akimbo guns but I'm not sure about the shotguns. I never bothered following up on it since I don't have the game anymore.

Yes! The striker and akimbo fmg9's are finally nerfed!
I was sick and tired of getting a jug and being killed within seconds with the fmg9

I've been stuck in a rut lately so I decided to mix up my classes. Been using the KSG shotgun with the MP9 as a backup, extreme conditioning, assassin pro, and steady aim. Been doing good with this actually but that's not surprising considering that shotguns are too good in this game. I'm second prestige 44 right now and from level 27 or so my k/d has dropped from 1.71 to 1.62 where it is currently. Since switching the classes up it's rising little by little. I've tried different game modes but hardcore search is the only one that keeps me interested. Ranked in the top 13k right now.

Just got 2 1 shot Double kills and a single shot triple kill with the L118A in a single match. Feels good man.

And shotguns aren't too crazy in this game. The MP7 on the other hand

I tried that gun in my first prestige and it's good but I don't feel as comfortable with it as I do with the ACR. I will try it out again once I unlock to get the xp bonuses. I think I'm done with the KSG. Too many times I hit someone point blank and get hit markers. That's crap in hardcore.

Well, I updated last night, and I don't know what they fixed with the lag compensation, but it got horrible from my end, my accuracy dropped 0.25 in 5 games or so, my k/d ratio never got higher 1, maybe 2 kills in the +.

I gave up after an hour playing.

I tried this out after the update, mine is slightly better (I won a gun fight), but not by much. My problem is my ping is good, 41ms at best, so no matter the lobby my connection is reduced, but I don't have the huge download speed to go with it (I've 6-7mb download), and I'm not fiber optic, so network traffic causes extra lag too, where others with this ping have 24-50mb download, and the lag comp only takes ping into account, so i've got 2-3 bar connection, only had 4 on release day! The only way they'll realize is if people don't play and don't buy dlc's!

I was watching a video of someone getting a MOAB with Akimbo Deagles and sometime during the commentary he mentions that getting a MOAB by itself wasn't really interesting or 'fun' any more. For example, all of my MOABs have been gotten with either the MP7, ACR or the gunthatlookslikeawilly PP90M1 (and maybe the SCAR). As hard as they were - I'm not actually 'thrilled' to be getting a MOAB anymore.
If you've seen my MOAB video, notice that my gameplay after calling in the MOAB was really jerky and I wasn't playing smooth at all. I was pretty pumped with adrenaline and it was genuinely something cool.

Hence the reason I'm going to start playing with a Magnum Tac-Knife. So far my killstreak with it has been 7 or 8 (although that included a knife and grenade) so I'm getting pretty close (not really )

TL;DR MOABs with ACRs are not fun. I want a Magnum MOAB.

But something else.
I kicked my PS3 into the DMZ in my router, and I turned off uPNP, I still have NAT2, but my nat type is moderate instead of open. And the first game I played, 23 killstreak with the L86. No more being host. No more lag. Giggity. Now it's only a matter of time before I start hoarding MOABS. 👍

I got MOAB'd for the first time today. Took just over 1300 games. It wasn't even a real legit one either. Stupid idea to go check out infected. It's nothing but a camp fest. Find a spot where you can't get knifed and you rack up the kills. They need to take Community games out of stats, it's just going to become a booster's paradise. Given the right map it's stupid easy to go 20+ and 1 or even 0.

Haha in the 3 hours I've played infected, I've gotten 3 moabs lol
No camping either, me and some friends totally took over whole parts of the map haha
It's a fun game mode if your bored.

And you just proved my point. The infected have nothing to defend themselves with. It's stupid easy to get a MOAB, and the fact that they let people party up in that mode makes it more of a joke. There were almost 90,000 people playing Infected when I was on, and there's a reason for that. It takes no skill at all to do good in that mode. I sat off in a corner doing nothing for one match and went 3-1 and was like, the 4th highest scorer. Apparently they tweaked the loadouts, and made it even worse by getting rid of throwing knives for the Infected. I bet a bunch of people started whining because they couldn't hop up high on a box or something and get easy kills.

You might have skills and could get a legit MOAB, but 3 in 3 hours shows just how broken the mode is and people will constantly flock to it because it's so cheap. For everything they do to try and improve the game, they always end up doing something that breaks it.

So they have nerfed the Striker, the FMG9, all Akimbo weapons (Including pistols which were already underpowered) and the Type 95?

Now they just need to nerf the pp90, mp7, p90, m4, acr, scar etc. They're the overpowered ones now.

If they periodically nerf the best weapons; assuming the game can never be fully balanced, every weapon will have it's stats reduced at an exponential rate until they're all useless.

They should have just left it as it was. Some of the weapons weren't even that good, they were just unlocked early so as to give the impression that they were overpowered because everybody was using them.

What's the DMZ in your router, I don't understand, what did you do? I've nat 1, open... Did you turn off uPNP in connection settings for PS3?

DMZ allows a device to operate outside of the firewall. This is a quick and easy way to achieve a NAT open type.

My nat type is now Moderate. Not open any more. When I'm the host the lag just becomes unbearable. And it has nothing to do with my connection, see below.

But you have NAT1, if I'm right, that's a straight connection to your modem.

Moabs arnt uncommon for me- I think I got my 7th last night playing kc.
I agree though, it's much too easy to do well, it's easy to do bad though as well.

3 MOABs in 3 hours? There was someone who had two in the same game I was in last night and a MOAB in almost every game after that. I had never been involved in a game that had a MOAB before infected showed up. Apparently the first infected is chosen at random. Hmm. Of the 8 games I played I was the first infected 4 times. Not fun on Dome where everyone just goes up onto the catwalk and waits. Infected is terribly boring even when you're winning.
