I'm about to download the 2 face off maps non elite members get but I end up with 7 or so items listed in the download menu, how come?
 
Modern Warfare 3 – June Xbox 360 Elite Content Drops Revealed, Last Set of Faceoff Maps

According to Rubin’s statements on Twitter, Call of Duty: Elite members on the Xbox 360 can expect a brand new Spec Ops mission as well as three new Faceoff maps tomorrow, June 19. Check them out below.

Spec Ops Mission:

-Arctic Recon

Faceoff Maps:

-Vortex
-U-Turn
-Intersection

Rubin also had this to say regarding the future of Faceoff maps in upcoming DLC, revealing that these could be the last set of Faceoff maps to grace Modern Warfare 3.

"I know a lot of people have been loving the Faceoff maps and so glad to bring those to you guys. Also I know some people haven’t really gotten into them and would prefer regular MP maps. We didn’t have any maps done in time for this drop, but we do have some coming soon. Also that will probably be the last of the Faceoff maps that we make so hope everyone who has been loving them as much as I have enjoy the new ones coming tomorrow."

PS3 Non-Elite members will be able to pick up Collection 2 this Thursday, June 21.

Did the last patch do something to the aim-assist? I've literally been yanked around when someone ran by me. That had never happened before the latest patch.

Modern Warfare 3 June Xbox 360 Elite DLC and Patch 1.16 Now Live

Title update #16 will set you back 9 MB in memory, and is mandatory for all players to download. As for today’s drops, three Face Off maps and one Spec Ops mission have been released. Intersection , Arctic Recon, and U-Turn/Vortex weigh in at 147.09 MB, 193.89 MB, and 74.86 MB respectively.

A new DLC portal has been added to the store section in the mutliplayer menu. For those who are having problems downloading the new DLC, follow this guide, as we have, to fix the issue. Be sure to back out and repeat the steps in order to reconfirm all past drops up to today’s.

Also, Infinity Ward has reverted the Collection 2 playlists back to Elite playlists, which feature only DLC multiplayer maps and all Face Off maps including the latest three.

Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 Patch 1.16 – Patch Notes

Here are the official patch notes:

New:

-Added Competition Mode to System Link (LAN).

Matchmaking:

-Add telemetry for matchmaking for future improvements.
NOTE: Matchmaking changes coming after patch with this new data.

Game Balance:

-Dragunov (Weapon)

-Multiple tweaks including reduced kick to bring it more in line with RSASS

-Dead man’s hand (Deathstreak)

-Reduced explosive radius apx. 25%.

-Blast Shield (Perk)- Increase damage reduction for Blast Shield in hardcore modes.

Misc Bug Fixes:

-Fix for not all Domination defenses counting towards your “Defends” stat.

-Kill Confirmed – Update the player score before updating the team score.

-Fixed bug where the Blind Eye kill streak is taken from the player on round transition if earned from getting 8 kills.

-Fixed bug where the Blind Eye kill streak is taken from the player if earned within 5 seconds of spawning.

God I wish. COD4's worst maps are better than MW3's best, in my opinion. I'd love a MW3 pack consisting of a few (or all) of COD4's maps.
 
I've had it with all the elite premium crap. I don't have it cause I thin it's kind of a waste for me but we have to wait a month and even then only elite premium members can even access things. The maps I kind of understand but not getting face-off is bs because xbox got it a month ago for free. Yeah know they pay for live but some things shouldn't matter, the whole cod/Microsoft relationship is a joke and frankly even though a really like mw3/2 I won't buy another one. If pd can do everything they have for absolutely free iw can hand us something. Oh well rant over. :lol:

Most of MW3's maps are crap, they are all rat races where its pot luck if someone comes out of an alleyway behind you. They don't flow well at all and are quite small.

Some classic COD4 maps were supposed to be coming for free, Infinity Ward have talked about it for a while.

I still can't understand why I have to download 7 things to get 2 face off maps, not wasting bandwidth.
 
Spec Ops Glitch and Fix on Xbox 360 MW3

Infinity Ward dropped a lot of content on the Xbox 360. MW3 got new DLC and a new title update, just as planned.

Not planned, was a glitch that came along with it. The glitch affects Spec Ops only, as it causes user’s Spec Ops rank to appear as if it is reset and prevents users from loading any of their Spec Ops DLC. According to the Modern Warfare 3 forum, the glitch only occurs when you have MW3 installed to your hard drive and you download the latest Elite DLC. Infinity Ward claims that the glitch has to do with a limit to the amount of DLC for one game.

It sounds scary, but if you happened to stumble across this post after freaking out that your Spec Ops rank was reset and all your DLC was erased, you can relax. There are multiple fixes for the glitch, and both are pretty painless.

Option 1) The first and easiest fix is to uninstall the game from your hard drive, and then re-install it. After doing so your Spec Ops rank should re-appear and your DLC will once again be accessible.

Option 2) If you don’t feel like uninstalling and re-installing the game, you can instead delete all of the DLC for MW3 and re-download it. As with option 1, this will clear up your rank and allow you to access your content again.

Infinity Ward Dev Working on Bringing MW2′s Terminal to MW3 for Free

Mark Rubin openly admitted that the team behind Modern Warfare 3 is working on introducing terminal, one of Modern Warfare 2′s most beloved maps, to Modern Warfare 3.

The executive producer stated regarding why Terminal hasn’t been released yet, “ it’s a tech issue with delivery.” He went on to confirm that it will noy be included in the DLC model, which mirrors what Ex-Infinity Ward employee Robert Bowling promised. Rubin assured, “yes [Terminal] will be free.”

Rubin added, “Don’t have a firm ETA [on Terminal] yet probably soon. Will be looking at it next week to finalize its deployment.” It’s almost confirmed at this point, but “it’s possible [Infinity Ward] runs into issues with deployment. But seems likely we’ll be able to release it.”

Rubin thinks that the Xbox 360 one month exclusivity deal might have to be applied on Terminal’s release frame as well. Rubin hopes to get the map out in June, but he hasn’t looked into when it will be released.

Modern Warfare 3 Double XP Weekend Starts Tomorrow For 360, PS3 & PC

nfinity Ward is celebrating the release of Modern Warfare 3′s newest DLC bundle, Collection 2, which is now available on both PC and PS3, with another double XP weekend.

The double XP event will start this weekend, and should go live tomorrow as it’s been the case with previous events. Infinity Ward’s community coordinator Candice Capen stated, “we’ll be having another double XP weekend to celebrate collection 2 release on PS3.” However, she’s not sure when the next double weapon XP event will take place.

Modern Warfare 3 PS3 Patch 1.16 and Collection 2 Now Live

Modern Warfare 3 players on PlayStation 3 are now able to purchase Collection 2 from the PSN store for $14.99. The pre-order deal, which net users a free theme, is now over. Collection 2, packs in the following maps and spec ops missions:

-Multiplayer maps: Foundation, Sanctuary, and Oasis.
-Spec Ops missions: Iron Clad and Kill Switch
-Face Off maps: Getaway and Lookout

Also, a new mandatory title update, patch 1.16, have gone live for all users to download. The update will set you back 29 MB in memory, and seem to have caused problems for premium Elite users, which we are investigating further.

The patch notes haven’t been made public at the time of writing, however Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin did mention that the patch includes “some changes to matchmaking today on PS3 that might improve things a little.” As always, if and when the official patch notes are released, we will report on them.

Update: Rubin had this to say on the ongoing problems, it “seems Sony hadn’t propped the patch everywhere and so people were playing on different versions. Working to resolve.”

is this the third weekend in a row of double xp? I imagine a lot of this has to do with BF3 having another double xp weekend. Pretty soon double xp will be the norm and then they'll have to move to quadruple xp.

Ok, I have a few questions. I updated my game last night (On PS3) and now they took away playlists for elite face off. So, we can't play Getaway and Lookout anymore? I'm confused too because it told me every time I went back to the menu for MP there was a playlist update..
 
Are any other PS3 users experiencing issues with MW3 since the 1.16 patch?

Ever since i downloaded the patch, i've not been able to play the (non Elite) DLC1 maps. They've appeared in the Playstation Store to download for free, so the PSN at least recognises that i've purchased DLC1 at some point. But whenever i load MW3 up, i just get a red text warning that states i can only use the original maps and should download the DLC from the store. I've done this 3 times now, and still can't use them.

I've tried deleting the game data and reloaded the game to get fresh data, then downloaded the DLC1 content again, only to get the same message. I've even done the same and downloaded the DLC2 content as well - but i'm still getting the same issue.

I'm just wondering if this is a common problem or not.

I'm reluctant to do it yet again since we are in a non-cable area so get a crappy download speed, which means it can take 4 or 5 hours to download either DLC1 or 2.
 
Mandatory X360 Patch released.

Infinity Ward released a new patch for the Xbox 360 version of Modern Warfare 3 last night.

The patch is mandatory, and will set you back 9MB of HDD space.. This is the emergency title update we reported on recently, more patches will follow in the upcoming weeks to address matchmaking and lag compensation.

Fix for the Out of Memory and Spec Ops issues related to latest Elite content

Fix to CMR [Custom Match Rule] exploit, also known as Vault Mods – “It was a hack where ppl were making custom game rules and bringing them into public matches,” explained Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin.

It seems that the patch didn’t address the “de-rank” problem for Spec Ops players. However, Rubin stated on Twitter, “I’ll be giving out instructions on how to get rank back. Hang in there.”

We will add the instructions to this piece when they become available.

Update 1: Mark Rubin has just published the following, basically the instructions are still on the way, but here’s the full statement. “With the patch for Xbox last night we fixed the bug that would reset your Spec Ops stats. However the steps to restore your stats is still coming. Should be very soon though. It should be pretty simple and straight forward and will basically just involve you going to a site and entering your gamertag and the level you were before getting reset. I will post more details as soon as I have them.”

Terminal Coming Soon To MW3

The release date for the map is still unknown, but Mark Rubin hinted on Twitter that

“Terminal is coming soon,” and that free map’s expected time of arrival will be announced this week.

We recently reported that it would be likely for Terminal to release on Xbox 360 first, but Infinity Ward had to consult legal in order to confirm it. Rubin seems to have received word from legal, as he stated “Unfortunately not, [Terminal can't be released on all platforms at the same time]. We have to maintain the 30 day difference.”

MW3 And Black Ops DLC sale on Steam/XBL/PSN today.

Activision has officially announced the sale for all three platforms, starting from today, July 3rd through July 9th. All DLC for Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops will be discounted on PSN, Steam, and Xbox Live.

“A portion of the sales will be donated by Activision to the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that provides job placement and training services for veterans,” the publisher wrote on the sale page.

LMAO. People have more OFFICIAL forums to be talking about MW3 such as an Elite Clan Page or even a personal forum. Just saying that honestly this is doing good, and would really like to thank "Ddrizle" for keeping us posted on all the news. He has been doing such a great job and honestly I don't look at OFFICIAL Modern Warfare 3 website for News. I come here anyway for GT5 stuff so honestly this has been saving me :)

There's a problem. Most OFFICIAL MW3 forums are full of people with an IQ lower than their age.
