I'm suprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. It's going to be the worlds largest ever Monopoly game using GoogleMaps as the board! You can buy just about any street you want!

New players are given three million Monopoly dollars to build their virtual empire.

Every street in the world is, in theory, available for purchase.

Once a player has taken control of a street, they are able to charge rent and build new virtual properties. Streets can also be traded and sold with other players.

The game makers have introduced chance cards, which allow players to sabotage neighbouring rivals by building rubbish dumps, prisons or wind farms on their property to reduce the rent value of their neighbours.

Players can only remove a hazard by bulldozing it off their property, again through the use of chance cards.

The game will close on the 31 January 2010.

Not loading up. I'd like to give it a try. Monopoly was one of my favorite games growing up. In fact, I just rented the PS3 version not to long ago. Too bad EA made it, and screwed it up.

Hope it comes back online soon. 👍
 
Hmm looks interesting. For me it seems to be a little faster now.

Why my street is worth that much I don't know. :lol: :p
 
Seems to be running a lot better now. Someone just demolished one of my buildings. :grumpy:

Edit Edit: The first street I bought is 6 miles long. That'll hold a pretty hefty amount of buildings! :D

It went down when I put on two offers. They are both huge roads. What is your nickname?
 
No it does not.

I won some chance card where I can sabotage someones street, went to look on my list of GTPers and the server was down so I had to use it on some random.

:odd: I would have thought that fellow GTP'ers would be the last ones you'd do that to.

I was having a great time and doing an anonymous sabotage would be funny to see posted on here :).

Next time I wont though;).
 
I just bought oxley avenue in Redcliffe for 1 mil, surprised noone owned it. It is sooooo many kilometres long and I used to live very close to it. I built one $150 000 property on it and got fined 11000 for having an unsafe road.

NOTE: The game is going to restart on the 17th of Sep, this means you need to reregister and restart when the game comes back online some hours later. It will run untill the 31st of January 2010.
 
I freakin love this game. I'm owning people left and right. I own most of my town and my rent each day is over $20M. Keep getting servers errors though and two of my accounts were stolen somehow
 
Its okay for me because my 1.2million dollar street just got sabotaged and I have had it all of 12 hours...

By the time my income comes in the game may be offline so I cant do anything about it.
 
I don't know about you guys, but I'm planning on changing things up a bit. ;)
 
How so? I will try to get on the game first day that it comes back so that half the streets are available.

I was second on my local leaderboard, I was 8th on Monday. Movin' up in the (local) world!

Then shot down by The Man.
