Like i said in the GT PSP thread, why should they model a complete new track if they can use a compressed version rom GT4? This is no indication of how it will look in GT5.
 
So that they don't have to hang onto two separate versions of the same track, unless they plan to offer each version as a different layout. The team that works on the Gran Turismo franchise, if I recall correctly, is split between different versions as needed. Having multiple versions of the same track ultimately will lengthen development time, with the exception of reusing the GT4 version of both tracks mentioned in Mobile.

It just seems to me like a design choice made with the short term, rather than the long term, in mind. I say this because tracks that have seen redesigns in the past scrapped the older versions, rather than offering older versions as a separate layout. This would mean that Mobile is a fourth generation Gran Turismo game, whereas GT5 is, naturally, a fifth generation game (if you know what I mean), not that this distinction is a bad thing by any means. I simply find it odd that, with both games within a relatively short period of time from one another, they do not share the same track layouts for some of the iconic tracks.

From the PSP's graphics though, the tracks look just like the GT4 tracks, so it wouldn't surprise me much if they'd just ported most of them from GT4 and modelled some new cars.
 
Of course they just ported it, they ported all the tracks, compressed them (lower texture resolution etc.) and put them in the game.
 
I'm starting to worry about the chances of Monaco making GT5. Of the confirmed or seen tracks we have:

City Courses: London, Madrid, Rome, Barcelona, Tokoyo, S11 Night, and maybe the Belgium city track which shows in some of the concept videos.
NASCAR: Daytona, Indy
F1/GT tracks: Suzuka, Fuji, Tskuba, Spa, High Speed Ring
Rally: The tuscan like track we keep seeing in GT5 videos, maybe a longer Eiger
Long Tracks: Nurburgring
Hot Lapping: Top Gear Track

Keeping in mind there is probably only another 2-3 tracks to be shown, if Monaco makes it (which I pray it does) that will be a disproportion amount of city tracks, although I'd probably expect Trial Mountain to be in considering some of the demo forrest like locations we've seen and I'd probably expect Twin Ring as it can have a ring for Nascar type events to equal up the split.

Anyway let's hope Monaco does get in seeing it hasn't appeared in Forza so far, and NFS Shift doesn't really count as a serious racer.
 
As many have said, it will be fantastic with a race full of people who play properly. GT5 is projected to be a hugely succesful game, thus meaning, alot of so called "n00bs" :lol:
