Most Beautiful Car EVER?

The S13 isn't fitting of the first-post description of a beautiful car; it'd design is too angular, and not exemplifying the kind of 'flow' we want. That would suit certainly better at the Sexy and Mean Cars thread.

What we want is curves people!

What the hell are you talking about? This is the beautiful cars thread, not the round curvy car thread. I can't believe you complain about the angles of the S13 and then post a pic of that Aston Martin with an even sharper rear.

That S13 is not mean, it's handsome. Plus, a few of the cars in here are bulbous ugly monstrosities so I suggest you change the thread title.

Oh dear, I see someone's boarded the arguement bus already :banghead:

a) I'm not changing the thread title, because I wanted a thread about beautiful cars, works of art on wheels

b) I'm not saying you're wrong because that S13 is presumably your idea of beauty, but I agree with GT Pro that it doesn't suit my original description of curves, elegance, good details etc that even the Charger and Superbird higher up the page display. It does lack the personality of the cars most other people have posted, in my opinion, and would suit "sexy and mean" better than "beautiful".

c) Whilst there are no rules in this thread, I think there is a general consensus on what is a beautiful car and what isn't. If the S13 is the most beautiful car in the world to you, then you're clearly quite a unique person. And if you were posting it to be edgy and controversial, then you've rather spoiled the idea of this thread.

d) You might like to accept a little criticism and someone else's opinion before putting down other people's choices. Would you like to offer comment on some of the "ugly and bulbous" cars you mentioned, or was that just an attack on GT Pro?

Nice choice, as is:

Hispano-Suiza H6C Dubonnet.. a car with a half of an aircraft engine. looks like it could fly too.

Hey, you want to talk about an argument bus? Nobody had to say anything about my post and it would've been forgotten about by page 2 and everything would've been fine. Don't start in and expect me not to respond.

"Beautiful" overlaps "sexy and mean" (wtf? How sexy applies to car doesn't even register) quite a bit. Therefore, it would be much wiser to name this thread "art cars" or something similar.

You are saying that I'm wrong for thinking the S13 is beautiful because you're saying it doesn't belong in this thread. What do you want from me? I posted a car that I thought was beautiful and you guys jump down my throat.

I wasn't aware that this thread's purpose was to criticize anyone's choice in the first place, so, please, speak for yourself before coming at me.

Now, this response of mine is not directed at anyone of you in particular, but if it applies to you then so be it.

Does not compute.

You are just asking for it...

Curves? Of course not. Elegance? Not really. Good details? Not in production form. Yet all told, it a one of the most well liked automobiles ever designed.
Your original post is not an accepted universal descriptor of beauty (because there isn't one), so come off of your high horse into reality. That doofy Citreon pickup sold in Europe has more beauty when based on your standards then a masterpiece such as the Jaguar XJ6.

Does not compute.

Eh? How does me suggesting that the poster holds a view of not many others mean that he's wrong? I think I stated pretty clearly that I'm sure that the car was beautiful to him. The very first reply to my original post said that this thread might be controversial because some peoples idea of beauty was different from that of others, and in reply to that I said that I didn't mind, because all though we all may not share the same view, the point of a forum is to discuss things. Personally, I don't find the S13 beautiful but if the poster wants to include it then it's fine by me. I merely expressed my opinion that it didn't match up with any of the original adjectives I'd used to classify a beautiful car.

Why is posting that car a big deal? I like the styling of the Countach, but again I wouldn't say it's beautiful to me. Oh noes! I've expressed an opinion on the internet!

"Beautiful" overlaps "sexy and mean" (wtf? How sexy applies to car doesn't even register) quite a bit. Therefore, it would be much wiser to name this thread "art cars" or something similar.

Don't quote me on the sexy thing, that's just the name of another thread in this forum. The only things sexy to me are actual women. Cars are aesthetic, beautiful, or angular, mean, ugly as sin, etc.

You are saying that I'm wrong for thinking the S13 is beautiful because you're saying it doesn't belong in this thread. What do you want from me? I posted a car that I thought was beautiful and you guys jump down my throat.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I wouldn't even say I jumped down your throat, at least not on the subject of the car. I simply shared an opinion with another poster, and suggested that if you were going to get worked up about people giving a critique of the S13, then you might like to add your input on some of the other cars in this thread as opposed to saying that a few posters had posted "ugly" cars.

I wasn't aware that this thread's purpose was to criticize anyone's choice in the first place, so, please, speak for yourself before coming at me.

So you expect a bunch of people to post a load of pictures and nobody to comment on them? Variety is the spice of life - and people disagree on stuff. It's only natural.

Maybe you'd like to explain why you like the S13, why you find it beautiful? On the two cars I've posted so far I've written a little about them and why I like how they look, why I think they're beautiful.

At the end of the day, I'm some guy you don't actually know at the other end of a bunch of wires - don't get so worked up if I disagree on an opinion...

And now back to the cars...

Ferrari 156 'Sharknose' Grand Prix car

In my opinion the 60s Formula One cars have always been the best looking, a balanced mid-engine design, the work of art engines out the back and a sleek cigar body at the front. As soon as wings arrived it went downhill.

The sharknose was probably my favourite, and Italian racing red never looked so good.

In terms of modern car design, I think this is stunning!

I liked the concept version (with the Maser V8) better than the production version. Something got lost in translation.

Every time I see a Brera on the road it certainly catches my attention, I think the Spider version is even prettier.

Nice choice, I really like the Impala from that era too, they're quintessential 50s US cars. All you need now is the Fender Strat to match!

plymouth-cars-12.jpg

From the earlier versions the Barracuda evolved into one very mean looking car. That is truly beautiful to me.

p77964_large+1967_Plymouth_GTX+Front_Drivers_Side_View.jpg

Be it quite a boxy car, the addition of the curves on the sides make it one truly stunning car.

I have a lot more cars that I would like to post here, but I'm a bit short on time at the moment.

Anyone else watch that show Wrecks to Riches? (Wrecks to Riches USA in the UK, as we already have one called that!)

Some of the muscle cars they work on are absolutely gorgeous, if I can find pics I'll post them.

Great choices, especially the 33 Stradale at the start. Reminds me of another of my choices...

Ferrari Dino 206P

267157509_78828ae66d_o.jpg

A Dino for the circuit. I didn't even know it existed (there's something for that thread!) until I saw a feature in Auto Italia magazine. Even more voluptous than the Dino 246 road car, and looks so good on those fat tyres and small diameter rims. Actually prefer it to the P3/4 too, which often walks away with the 'most beautiful race car' votes.

That first picture of the P3 is particularly stunning. I still prefer the Dino 206P I posted before though :D To me there's truth in the "small is beautiful" saying.
