Most needed update - Cheats

I really think people are looking for something like Turn 10 did with Forza: make all premium cars and tracks available right from the start for Arcade and online races. These cars are kept stock and you have the option to use modded cars from your garage.

But, when you step in GT Mode, only the cars from your garage are made available.

Would that be acceptable?

This thread cracks me up! I would welcome some cheats in the same way you mentioned. Work a 45hour week, family, decorating a house and all the other stuff. Having the fun fast cars is where the fun is at!

All the replies that say "play need for speed" or "don't play video games" are such lame replies. We don't all have the time to spend hours getting gold on our license, but it doesn't mean that we shouldn't want to have some fun with our cars. After all it's a game and I want entertaining. Driving an old split screen camper around the top gear test track is just not fun.

So anyway, that's my reply. Flame suit on :)

It is infantile to care about how others play the game or 'earn' credits, cars, drive with assists; etc.

They are all virtual achievements with make believe rewards

I just want to (virtual) race with a 'racy' car and preferable against a real person online; not plod around in a Volkswagen split window camping bus :)

It seems everyone is just off their rockers about this topic. All the emotions (or, "nerd-rage") just rushed right into the Limbic system - threats, insults, and everything started flying.

Honestly, this is just for Arcade mode. So all the things people are saying about trophies, or buying the X1 to win gold on your Sunday Cup wouldn't even apply - there is a clear separation between what this would in theory affect and not affect. Stop seeing this topic as cheating in general, and start seeing it as cheating in context (and to reiterate - in Arcade Mode.

And yes, I would be one for this. When a friend comes over, I don't want to have to grind away in the A or B-spec 2-3 hours prior to unlock the SLR Mclaren. I just want to play the cars that PD has already painstakingly modeled, and enjoy the view and the physics.

I just love how our culture is leaning towards no work, all reward. Has anyone ever heard the term "you gotta pay to play"? That can mean money, time or effort. No one likes to see the "other guy" take the easy way out or get a handout when he/she has to the work or put in the time to get the same reward.

Momma always said, nobody likes a cheater.

How's $50-60? That's about the average price for GT5, isn't it? They've paid, now let them play.

I completely agree with the OP on this.

I too am in the same situation (wife and baby, very full time job etc) and would love to see the chance of a "cheat" in the form of dlc that unlocks all the tracks and cars for use in arcade mode.

I think this would serve 2 purposes. Firstly, people that don't have time to grind away/ skill to unlock everything get to experience the awesome cars and tracks on offer in GT mode without having to plough hours upon hours of valuable "free" time to do so. And secondly, it'd give you a chance to test some of the cars before you spend your hard earned money on them.

With Forza (sorry to drop the obvious comparison) you can drive all the cars on all the tracks from the get-go in arcade mode which I loved about it.

I don't think there should be any kind of carry over into the main game with it though, as I do like to do the challenges/ race events when I get the rare opportunity to spend a few hours playing GT.

Say Arcade Mode was unlocked.

I'd be flying round Nurburgring in the Red Bull X-1 straight away. Now, you wouldn't see me "take the easy way out or get a handout". In fact, I could race every car on every track and you'd still be none the wiser.

Personally, I'd be more worried about our culture leaning towards total strangers trying to infringe on my personal freedom, which affects them in no way. You could claim jealousy I suppose, but that would be a tad embarrassing.
