Ref: Top speed and power.

The top speed of any vehicle is governed by it's thrust. We can neglect rolling resistance to a certain degree as at any vehicle's Vmax the governing retarding force is the air resistance.

At the car's top speed, every single one of those horsepowers is being matched by the force generated by the air. Now the air resistance is generally measured as a force, so to balance the equation, so must the vehicle's motive power.

Thrust at the wheels is also measured as a force in Newtons, kgf, lbf, whatever is your standard unit.

this is all off the top of my head, feel free to object,

cheers,

Kurtis.

Serioulsly why the hell doesnt the escudo go up 2 1800bhp in this game...mine is stuck at 1070 wid a st4..thats the only mod that can be applied 2 it rite appart 4om the st3 turbo and the nos. And is the oil change which every1 talkin abt the one in gt tuner along with the wheels and wings? if so does it make a difference in the hp and the escudo previously reached over 250mhp in this it only does 208(major let down) will changing the gear ratios increase the top speed of this car and if so by how much? And i understand that there are a lot of cars with higher top speed but does the escudo have the fastest accleration still?

The Escudo in this game, is as its name states, a dirt car. Therefore, it has awesome properties for rally driving, not tarmac. Its top speed isn't nearly as high as the LMP cars, and its gear & suspension settings are shocking for driving on road. Question. Who told you the hp goes to 1800? That sounds a bit far fetched. If you open up the gears, it could probably hit 250mph on test course, but i dont recommend racing it.

Its a known fact from gt3 that an escudo when fully modded goes up 2 1800bhp and at that time it is actully flying over the road.

Yea, but that was a glitch, i thought theyd fixed it for GT4... Maybe not?

My favorite fastest car is the Minolta with like 1240hp along with many other Le Mans type. The other Le Mans cars are alredy fast so i see no need in putting bigger turbos on them. Anyways how do u kno how much HP your getting outta nitrous. I would really like to kno that.

I'm not 100% sure , but I think that the number you set the NOS to in settings is the power you are getting from it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

I'm having deja vu...I could've sworn I'd seen this thread somewhere....multiple times... :dunce:

Just to add something besides bickering to the thread, having 1000+ horsepower isn't for functionality throughout the actual race...it's so you can fly by all the sensibly tuned cars in the straights, and say "mine's bigger" :sly:

Not that that pleasure is anything but short-lived :grumpy: , but that's beside the point. :)
