The minolta , you have to shot shift to keep the traction, and when you get to third, it is still bloody wheel spinning

Nothing throttle control can't fix, try a speed 12, you can learn pretty quick

The standard Mazdaspeed Atenza has SO MUCH UNDERSTEER.

Funny you say that, my dad has one of those in real life. He would have to agree with you on that:tup:

Edit. crud, i think i asked him about oversteer:dunce:

For racecars, the fgt is an obvious choice for a novice like me. I still dont know how the car will behave and when.

Recently, the 300C and Mazdaspeed Atenza were called out for being uncontrollable. I must say these two cars are awesome when fully tuned.

The Mazdaspeed Atenza can be tuned to give it unbelievable cornering accuracy, and the Chrysler 300C has sooo much power when upgraded it makes up for it in the turns. (I got a 300C to reach 255mph in a draft on SS7!!!!:D)

Lotus Exige?
The Caterham Fireblade can be good fun with tc off, you go round a bend at 100mph and the back end just keeps wanting to overtake

The Ruf CTR Yellowbird is the toughest for me. I can't drive that car without holding it in a drift at every corner. Fun but not fast. Murcielago LP640 is a good runner up.

I've never had a problem with the Cobra and Stratos though maybe because I only drive stock.

Fully tuned Shelby cobra, never stops going sideways, even at 230 you start getting speed wobbles.

Very nice vehicle your father has man. Mazda Atenza Mazdaspeed in GT5 has understeering tendency only if you are full throttle as its suspension is not rigid enough to compel its great torque from 3000rpm on. So, it's not uncontrollable, it's simply powerful and needs a nice touch on the right pedal.

In my opinion Toyota Race 70 is too powerful and doesn't have enough aero to keep it down. Very dangerous vehicle. Haven't driven over the third of the vehicles GT5 has although. More dangerous cars must exist, I am sure of it...

Caterham, maybe I'm driving it properly but I find it very hard with this car to see the grip limit and if it has under- or oversteer.

a lot of people don't like using driving aids around here.

Well that's just sanctimonious elitism talking.

There are a lot of cars in this game that have driving characteristics that don't come anywhere near to matching their RL counterparts, the Gallardo comes very quickly to mind. In those instances, such as the FGT, you practically require the driving aids just to bring them back in line with reality.

If I had to pick a car, then I would have to say it's the Gallardo. Good Lord that thing is uncontrollable. I spent hours attempting to tune that car and drive it without driving aids and I finally gave up and just threw TC 5 on there and set the Active Steering at Strong.

Funny thing is, the Gallardo is perfectly fine until you fully tune it. I didn't have any problems until I did the stage 3 weight and stage 3 engine tuning and then it suddenly wanted to be a helicopter instead of a car.

Was the Yellowbird really that bad in real life? Is a 911 that bad?

The yellow bird and all older 911's oversteered like that because of the power and weight over the rear wheels. the yellow bird seems worse because it has so much power. All in all the yellow bird isn't bad to drive you just can't be stupid with the throttle.

If your not using TCS on the FGT your either a fool or one hell of a shoe. Hell even the real F1s' are computer controlled.

It's not that hard to drive f1's without tcs. I do it with a ds3. No Abs is a little more challenging.

My most Uncontrollable .. a fully tune Zr1 .. not RM .. just Fully tuned _-_

Duuude O_o
The ZR1 is like on of THE most controllable cars to drive in GT5!
I drive 'aids-less' with a DFGT, but still, the trick is to not floor it in corners. Drive it like an M3 (older ones) or any R wheel drive cars.

However I wouldn't take it to the Nurburgring (except in online) because offline it understeers like a maniac!

I catagorise cars in 2:
- crap out of the box (needs extreme tuning to drive less crap)
- ready out of the box (no tuning necessary, but doing any will put a cherry on a 15 foot cake)
The ZR1 definitively goes into the "ready out of the box"!

You're driving it perfect!
It understeers right until the moment you start to slide! :D
But what's awesome about it is that you can feel it building up (with a wheel), so all you do is brake a split second and you're back on track!
