Is it 2011 yet? ;)

 You would think so wouldn't you, we'll have nothing to talk about next year...apart from the 2012 season :D

BTW funny avatar, quite a bit less scary first thing in the morning than the previous one ;)

Watched the Moto2 race yesterday. In one word? FRANTIC.

Great skills not to crash into each other running so many, so close. And another great performance from Elias.

A bit of random MotoGP news

Jay Leno to serve as Grand Marshall at Indianapolis MotoGP

Take note, MotoGP fans. The series' next stop will be right her in America at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As the second and final stop here in the United States, this will be the last time you'll be able to see the fastest motorcycles ridden by the most talented riders in the world for a while.

And we've just been made aware of yet another reason why you might want to make the pilgrimage down to Indy for the weekend's festivities. It seems that the Grand Marshall for the event will be none other than certified gearhead and comedian Jay Leno.

As part of his duties, Leno will be presenting the winner's trophy at the end of the race, but he apparently won't be taking any hot laps of his own.

I know it's probably already been discussed but, how many of you guys are actually going to indy tomorrow

Not me.
That's way too far for me to travel and work schedule won't allow it.
Living where I do, it's near impossible to make such venues.

*has been there the last 2 days* I will be there tomorrow! :D

I must admit I'm made up with Spies getting pole, it would be great if he got the win today. Bit of a shame Rossi crashed again and had little toddler tantrum.

What do yous make of Casey Stoners antics at the end off qualifying? What a 🤬

Spoilt brat comes to mind, maybe he wanted to be better than Rossi at throwing his toys out the cot ;)

Did you see Stoner's slide early on in qualifying? He was leaning right over in a left hander and had pretty much full right lock on

I laughed alot when Kallio made Casey sit up! He deserves to be penalised for bulking not just 1 but 2 riders. He knew they were coming as they had let him through previous lap. Drivers get penalised for bulking in F1 right?

Yea that's the bit i like about Casey, shame we never got a slo mo of that!

I'm not into things on 2 wheels (unless its a car doing a wheelie) but is it common to make mistakes that can put you out of the race? During the idianapollis race, i saw a few riders coming off the same corner over and over again. And the commentators say they were took out by a 'small bump'. The bump was the place before the bikers turned into the corner. So it takes just that to massively disrupt a 200mph bike?

Well, just saw the race and almost fell asleep...strange race on an even stranger circiut that in my opinion doesn't suit racing bikes at all...

Great drive from Spies, but even better one from Dani...

So who exactly won and what order?
I didn't get the chance to see the race as I was hanging with friends.
I did get the chance to see the MotoGp2 race and it was quite exciting.
Results please for those in the wont.

^ I was just about to post that :) I'll update the first post shortly but the next race at Misano is this weekend.

I'm not into things on 2 wheels (unless its a car doing a wheelie) but is it common to make mistakes that can put you out of the race? During the idianapollis race, i saw a few riders coming off the same corner over and over again. And the commentators say they were took out by a 'small bump'. The short answer is yes. It is common to make a mistake that takes you out of the race but this is not unique to motorbike racing as it happens in nearly every motor race regardless of how many wheels they're on. The surface at Indianapolis isn't great and it was very hot on Sunday which further reduces grip so when the riders and bikes are on the absolute limits of grip and they make a slight error and hit a bump or crack then there is a chance they will lose grip and won't be able to save the crash. Ultimately it is rider error but the consequence on a bike is you fall off where in a car you may just slide but stay on the track. Although there were a few crashes there were many more big slides that were saved which really does take a huge amount of skill when they're pushing so hard.

Woot for Spies. I knew it wouldn't take long for his talent to show through.
I can't wait for next years racing as Spies will be in the hunt, Rossi will be slowed down by the Dukes, and Lorenzo will continue on with his hunt for Championship.
What a year it's going to be.

It would have perfect if Spies won but a second is still outstanding especially as he beat his team mate for next year, 2011 is indeed going to be a very interesting season.

BTW the first post has been updated...I think everyone will like the podium photo I found :sly:

Sad news about young Peter Lenz. A great talent at such a young age.

Also best wishes to Olie Lindsell who had a spill at the Manx GP.

Very very sad news especially as he was only 13 years old.

Best wishes to Olie too, he's still in a critical condition but has been transfered a Liverpool hospital for observation so hopefully he'll make a full recovery.

MotoGP...it's Rossi's home race this weekend at Misano where he has won the last 2 races, it's highly unlikely he'll make it a hat trick but he's hoping for a podium although he expects it to be hard work. MotoGP Friday practice starts in 15 minutes which should give an indication of how the form is.

Another sad day in motorbike racing with the tragic death of 19 year old Shoya Tomizawa in the Moto2 race, may he rest in peace.

Not the most exciting race in MotoGP although glad to see Rossi back on the podium. It really wasn't a good day for Ducati though!

First post updated, the next race is in 2 weeks.

Rest In Peace Shoya Tomizawa.

You were a rising star with great talent and a great personality.

My condolences to the family and friends.

R.I.P. Shoya Tomizawa. Condolences to the family and friends... A tragic day for MotoGP and motorsport. :(

Well another motorracing day tomorrow...lets hope for some good racing and no more horrible accidents this time...

Stoner on pole for the Motogp rac e,could be exiting!!!...

I totally forgot it about qualifying and missed it, the race is set to record though. Stoner is quite a bit faster and Hayden did well too so the new track must suit Ducati. Full qualifying results here

Hopefully it'll be an exciting race tomorrow.
