Ryan Preece, who had that scary, multiple barrel-roll flip at Daytona a few years ago, just had another airborne crash at Daytona. He is alright.

Yeah, i saw it live, it shows it's not an issue with the tracks, it's the cars.

NASCARs have been taking flight at Daytona, and other tracks, since Bill France Jr was in short pants.

They were doing it before the restrictor plate was brought in, and they've done it in every generation of NASCAR since.

It will continue to happen so long as there is an opportunity for air to get under the car, when that car is not travelling in the desired direction.

It is not rocket science. It is aerodynamics and physics doing what they do.

He's actually lucky the car tipped over before landing on the banking. If he hit the banking with the underside of the car, would've been truly awful for him.

Graham Hill push starts his own Lotus during the 1967 Canadian GP. He went on to finish 4th, 2 laps down on winner Jack Brabham.

"4th, 2 laps down" is a wild phrase compared to modern F1. Imagine the carnage it would take for that to occur now.

The nearest I could think of (I don't really remember it though) was 1994 Pacific GP.

Monaco 96 would like a word.

Damon Hill won the 1995 Australian Grand Prix two laps ahead of Olivier Panis in 2nd.

Nasty-looking brake failure. Ouch. They make them tougher than that these days and you can really tell from those images.

Part of the risk of racing old iconic race cars. Unfortunate, but I'd rather see that than be in some rich person's kitchen.

Not the first time a 905 has had a brake failure at top speed

Edit: Looking into this further, this was 3 laps from the end of a 500km race and Dalmas was one of only two cars in Group C1 still in the race. In fact only 3 cars actually crossed the finish line

Yeah. Apparently the weather was all over the place just before race start and everything was in chaos.

The Monza one looked dreadful for quite a moment but the Paul Ricard one is going for a Kelvin Burt/Kieth Odor tribute. Glad he walked away unharmed.

Ah yes, Tiago Monteiro, famously known for his 3rd place finish in the 2005 US GP.

Michelin and Bridgestone have graciously decided to commemorate the event by both pulling out of the 2025 USGP.

We've all heard about F1 cars supposedly being able to drive upside down.

Now McMurtry has decided to do it for real with one of their cars, albeit a lot slower than you'd think.

Fan cars, gotta love em 😅

Yellow Flags exists for a reason. They exist so stuff like this can be cleared without 17 Safety Car interventions in a small race.

Driver needs a big fine and to watch this back an understand why you SLOW DOWN when seeing them.
