Thats funny seeing as the ALMS GT class will be retained in the merger..

Oh it is? I thought it was getting absorbed into the grand am gt class.

I'm not an expert on the subject, but what is the difference between ALMS GT and Grand Am GT?

Grand Am uses cars closer to GT3 spec, while ALMS uses all out GTE, at least for the PRO-AM stuff and GT3 Cup Porsches for the GTC class.

Some very scary stills that make Anthony Davidson and Peter Dumbreck look like a low ground surfer.

Just as I was watching that video on the telly fifth gear just started a chunk on these races, absolutely crazy.

this thread is awesome,

check the casual as marshall about 3.20 in to the footage,

The scene between 1:28 to 1:35 is the greatest way to descibe these riders and fans.:scared::eek::crazy:

I've found it.

That is absolutely the most bad ass racing that will ever exist. Words do not describe the epic. Oh my ****ing gosh.

That's one of my favourite road racing videos, I can't count the number of times I've watched it.

Apart from loving the whole video, and especially that 1:28-1:36 part, 1:52 is awesome as well. They're going so fast and yet the front end still just won't stay down.

I've made it my life goal that I'm going to race in the TT one day.
Start by racing in Ireland and then getting enough road racing experience that they will let me into the TT. That would be the coolest thing in the world.

Since we're posting British road racing videos, here's my pick. This is more like a WTF I can't believe he just did that. Make sure you watch the entire video to fully comprehend what happened.

Mihael Dunlop, William Dunlop, Cameron Donald, and Guy Martin FTW!

Saw Block post that... Can't believe he did that. It's incredibly dangerous to him, the other racers, the fans, everyone involved. As with anything like that let alone with machines like that, when there's a fire you stop and make it safe.

Eh, I doubt it was any harm to anyone but himself. I'm sure it's not the first time a driver has continued on with a small fire in the car. Once it started getting out of hand, he stopped. No harm done.

I'm pretty sure he only stopped when his car gave up?
He has no idea what's going on underneath, all kinds of horror could have happened. Not all accidents are freak.

I doubt that he even knew that there was a fire until he felt it on his leg.
When you're in the zone you only see the track, not what's happening in the cockpit.

Like has been said before, he only stopped because his firesuit was starting to smoke on his leg. Also the smoke will have become too unsafe in the cockpit.

I wouldn't say he was in the zone because if you look carefully he looked down at his ECU Centre Console a few times, hence one of the reasons Tanner Foist got passed.

I most certainly say it was safe and even he knew when it was time to get out.

And his car never actually cut out, he stopped himself. And as far as I can see the underneath of his car wasn't actually ablaze... But I may be wrong there.
