Watching it in slow motion is just incredible. Hollywood couldn't create a better save 👍

WTF for sure..

*Smart Cup Cars racing video*

I don't see anything odd about that.

After all, we have Mini Cup Cars, Polo Cup Cars and various other small cars modified for track racing, Smart fortwo Cup Cars are just something even smaller than that.

Besides, they are pretty quick, and their liveries looked rather nice, too. :p

The simple fact of the matter is that in a Smart Car, there is almost nothing to absorb the impact except for the ridgid cage itself, and in turn the driver. Of course, when converted in to a race car, they become much, much safer, but that still doesn't make them as safe as most other race cars out there. But then again, it's all relative to how fast the cars are built to go.

A crash at 30 MPH? You'll probably survive. But a crash at 100 MPH? That's questionable, depending on the circumstances.

I was exaggerating the 30mph. but at any high rate of speed, there is only so much metal between you can the wall or other car you are hitting. As said above, no force is absorbed.

Same crash, better angle:

MacDowall ran wide and backed off in front of Muller who couldn't stop in time.

Also look out for Coronel leaking fluids.

Don't get me started on Macau...

Huge win for Felix, big WTF for the organization on the anthem.

Still, very proud of Felix da Costa and the few Portuguese there who sang it "a capela" for him 👍

Unbelievable fail from the Macau GP organization.

Unforgettable win for the portuguese people still in Macau.

And a great moment in the life of António, doesn't matter how many more are (hopefully) still to come.

That looks like an Australian take on the Legends series. They're 125cc bike engines too.

they aren't 125cc, they are a lot bigger then that, they us a 1200cc twin cam Yamaha motor that produces 125BHP, at 450KG, but they are a boat load of fun, specially in the wet,

This is how not to drive your $90,000 / 700 hp Mustang Cobra Jet. Well yes, you can drag race it of course, but have a sense of control as to what you are doing when the wheels land back down. Driver error, watch the steer wheels turn. You have to keep these things straight.

Mustang Cobra Jet crash

BTW .... turn up the volume, this thing sounds wicked. Love it.

I like how he momentarily touches the brake pedal, as you can see the brake lights come on for a split second, and then decides slowing the car down isn't that important. :dunce:

what a :dunce: more dollars then sense, people like that annoy me, they think they are the ducks guts because they buy a car and fill it with power because they have a bottomless pit of cash, and accidentally win a bunch of races just through being able buy the best of everything on the market through sheer luck not skill, really gets my goat,

Agreed it sounds awesome. Why would he turn the wheel to the right in mid-air though?

here's some sounds for you all, when former V8 super car driver, come commentator Mark Skaife gets FIRED UP  he is such a joke,

What do you mean Mike? He still is, some of the things he say's in the booth, No wonder why V8s are going down the next flush,

I think I'm the only person who enjoyed Bathurst and Sandown last year even though he won both of them it was nice to watch the races with him talking for all of it, finally got to here some valid point's and not his nonsense,

The thing I don't like about him as a commentator is how when a driver has a minor moment, he shouts like they are going to have to have a massive accident, usually accompanied by him shouting "That was almost a massive moment there for (insert driver here)"

Fair enough if it was an actual massive crash (like Sydney 2010) but it seems he gets excited easily when someone wobbles.

I love Skaifey. His enthusiasm is good for the sport

I can agree with this statement, But from my POV the bad out weighs the good, specially now he is taking over Tony Cochrane's seat, whom has made it what it is today, I can appreciate that the sport is becoming and has been somewhat stale with the current rules and car reg's, but on the odd occasion the racer's decision comes out as oppose to the conservative approach, which is why new manufacture's are coming, and the new car reg's and stuff, but I do believe this hasn't been thought through properly and will blow up in our (Australian) face,

That is a commentator's job, to get excited, to get you to get excited and keep watching,
But he say's stupid things and always states the obvious, and repeat's it, several times,
Skaife quote, "he's faster, he's caught the back marker, HE'S THROUGH! now he's going to want to increase the gap,"
Skaife qoute, "yes he is a good driver, has always been a good driver, and will always be a good driver, champion? with luck, legend, no, A good driver can never be a great driver" (Skaife ond Dumbrell 2011) (before he announced his retirement)
