That was a Time Attack event...and some idiot had a: "How hard can it be?" moment.
No, at Modified Live they always have a jet car demonstration alongside other things (usually a bike, race trucks or similar). Looking at the comments, this particular engineer seems to have a death wish. Or some trouble understanding the basics of jet engines. Or quite possibly both, hand in hand.

Looks like he was trying to drift it, so he booted the power before swinging into the corner. Thing is, jet engines do not have anything like the same response times as combustion engines!

Thought this would have been posted sooner, cant find a shorter clip, sort lads, start from around 4.30 in to the clip,

It was Retro Kings this year rather than Modified Live, but yes- there were supposed to be jet car demonstrations along the pit straight. For some reason they decided that running the car the wrong way down the straight into the tightest corner on the track was a good idea.

Miraculous that the driver or any spectators weren't seriously injured.

Yeah, it looks cool, but one slip and he takes out the front wing or, even worse, unbalances a car that they are currently refuelling.

Isn't that kind of the underlying theme of racing though? Every second counts and one slip up can cost the race.

I can why would any race director cancel races due to lack of driving standards, in that wacky world of F3. Some just want to destroy their cars, it seems. Perhaps they should also learn when to back off from an overtaking attempt, but it's not my money on the line in those races...

Those F3 races are looking more and more like everyday online multiplayer races. I realize it's a driver development series, but these guy's have to know that they can't win the race by going for an overtake in the grass like that... even if he was forced over. He should have backed out and tried it again later.

Hey, look. Another case of "I could back off, but then again, I want to hold my position"! What a (not) lovely example of racing driving. One might create a new drinking game; take a shot whenever you see a F3 car crashing.

Then again, most players of that game would probably die of alchol poisoning...

4 words.

I.

Am.

Dreading.

R3.

And so are the trackside crews. And the race director. And the team owners. And the dri...

No wait, the drivers give zero f:censored: about the crashing. Scratch that one out. The point still stands, though. Make sure to not start a drinking game over all the crashing...

They're racing incidents, yes, but these drivers need to realize they can't drive with reckless abandon all the time and make it to the t.....

....Pastor Maldonado. :banghead:

No, both of those F3 crashes were caused by the guy in front moving over thinking the guy alongside will just disappear.

Racing room is an alien concept to those "drivers".

So it's a case of "There's not another racing car in that gap, I'm sure if I move towards said gap nothing will happen to me or my car". Got it.

And it must be an alien concept, mainly because very few are aware of it. Much like very few are aware of aliens...
